One day, when Yogi was managing the Mets, a reporter asked him about a young player who had been a hot prospect but who had not come close to living up to his claimed potential.
Yogi just shrugged and summed up his thoughts thusly: "The future ain't what it used to be."
And another Yogism was born.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I went to an Andreas Bocelli concert in Newark, NJ. We were at a pre-concert event and we bumped into Yogi Berra and his wife.
I mentioned to my kids that we had been at a party with Yogi Berra. My five-year-old, who has a great comic delivery for a kid his age, deadpanned: "Wait a minute. Do you mean the person -- or the bear?"

There's also another CAA game that had many similarities. In the 2004 quarterfinals game between UD @ WM, the Hens led 31-10 (same exact score the Giants were up by) before W&M stormed back to win the game.

610 WIP has been replaying the final 8 minutes of the radio call of the game today. It's sort of an NFL Replay format where they take out commercials and dead periods and is exciting throughout with no breaks. I listened to it on the morning show and it got me excited all over again. I was pleading with the Giants to just run out the clock (Eagles no timeouts, Giants get ball with 1:30 left) and send it to OT, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!
They're replaying it again at the end of the midday show. It should be re-airing around 2:30 this afternoon. It's totally worth a listen, if for nothing else than to hear one of the best broadcast teams in the NFL in Merrill Reese on play-by-play and Mike Quick on color.
This link should work. If not, just google 610 WIP:

C'mon, BF. There was a Giant defender within tackling distance of Jackson as he danced along the 1-yard-line. If the defender had paid attention, Jackson might be wearing goat's horns today. He was never within tackling distance - he was still a good 7-8 yards behind Jackson. And that's the thing, what makes you think a Giant defender could even catch up to Jackson in the first place?Ivytalk wrote:C'mon, BF. Yeah, after the eerily similar ending, I should have pointed out thats where the parallel ends. JMU went on to have the #1 seed and make the semis and UR won the NC. Eagles won't be the #1 seed out of the NFC (rather the #2 or #3), but have a good chance to make the NFC championship game. Yep, Giants sure as hell won't make the Super Bowl, much less win it.UNHWildCats wrote:Richmond went on to win the Championship and JMU didn't...
