Just to set things straight. JMU fans were able to get tickets through Craigs List & StubHub. Since the games were all sold out before the season started, they would have had to be from ODU "FANS" (I use that term lightly). If you couldn't go to the game you could have let the waiting list have them.
Not as many NSU fans will be able to get them as you may think though. This is a game that everyone (even casual fans) want to see in our area.
The tailgates are fun, and we have lots of things to do.

That being said, I DO feel more than confident that NSU probaly should have been allowed to play a lesser team.

True. But ODU already played a MEAC team this year and won by 3. I think ODU wins this weekend, but I'll take the points if you're laying 21.

Based on the fact that ODU has sold out (pretty much) every single home game of its existence and NSU...not so much. News coverage as well. ODU is the cash cow of the Norfolk media market. Not sure if the "tens of thousands of NSU fans" who wanted a ticket to this game would even care that they would have to go to GSU (and on the road for the rest of their playoff run). ODU has done everything right in media presence, market saturation, promotion of the program, etc. This whole ticket fiasco has given NSU a serious black eye in public perception, and on top of the other decisions made by the administration, has NSU looking like Apollo Creed from Rocky IV.

The casual fans would root for ODU, because ODU owns the market now. Not sure if the NSU "fans" would even realize that there would still be another game after this one. That is where the disconnect is. I've had a couple NSU alums tell me that some folks were surprised that there was another game because "didn't NSU already win the championship?" (conference)

Maybe I should give them the benefit of the doubt but from the events of the last few days and what I've heard...I dunno, maybe they'll surprise me, because BOTH programs are great stories this season.
