2005 was a lifetime ago. And if we're counting moral victories then the Griz went 11-0 last year.

No doubt, but Lafayette has a history of playing well against teams they shouldn't beat. I am arguing that we will be competitive not victorious, and my points illustate a competive history is such games.
Frank, a good friend of mine is a Pard grad and I'd love NOTHING more than to see you guys stick one to these arrogant motherfuckers from NDSU....but the general consensus is that all JBB is doing is prepping his case for when NDSU does NOT roll Laughayette by 24....I mean lets be real: a 2-9 team versus a team that by all rights should have won the national title if it weren't for red turf, cow bells, crooked refs and a conspiracy to hate them.

Right- we Patriot league fans understand who we are. We are among the worst conferences in FCS, but we have several teams that are competitive FCS squads. At times our better teams can win a game in the playoffs, or knock off a team from a power conference.

NDSU is a bit of a reach game for us, but we welcome the challenge of a top team. If we play like we did at times last year it will be a rough day, but I think our t
eam is much improved and will make a worthy opponent. This is not a case of two teams that don't belong on the same field like Montana and Ft. Lewis.
Thats another thing that has disturbed me. Many fans from schools doing the inter-divisional ft. lewis thing are condeming this game because they say Lafayette has no scholarships. Thanks for debunking that Franks and thanks for speaking up in support of the Leopards and the PL.

Some of these guys are really over the top. They are insulting and ignorant because of me?

I think they are being taken to the woodshed for that now!

What you have is ONE poll, your OWN testimony, made up evidence and quotes from lakesbison to support your case that this game has some mythical "national" significance. And yea for Frank standing up for his team, but it doesn't change the FACT that they were 2-9 last year in the fucking PATRIOT league and if you don't put 45 on them and win by 24 you should have serious doubts about your ability to compete in the MFVC.

And that was last year, where we had serious injury and depth issues at many positions. Lehigh was 4-7 in 2009 and downright dysmal at times. The rebounded in 2010 to go 10-3 and win a playoff game. I dont think the Leopards will go 10-3, but nobody should be surprised if the game is competitive.

I agree with you on the poll. I should have said ranked as high as #10 in respected national polls. I get it ok? duh

Both Franks Tanks and TU Owl have come in to rebut the insulting claims that Lafayette has no football tradition. Everyone has acknowledged they were 2-9 last season, which is the exception and not the rule, but hardly anyone is acknowledging they have a lot of key guys coming back on both sides of the ball. A lot of these guys were freshman on the 2009 team that strung 5 wins together. Those are all facts not opinion.
Football Handbook of Handicapping and Ranking wrote:The elite program registry is a sound system for analyzing and ranking programs based on the qualities identified as necessary to make a program elite. It has long been used to identify elite programs. Several corollaries have been constructed to allow the approach to yield winners not only on a game basis but seasonal and over time as well.
How much we sould beat them by is not a measure of anything. Its pure opinion. 1 pt or a hundred, a win is a win. Thats a fact. Comparative scores are the basest comparisons you can make. Curious to most of us meaningful to fools.

You have nothing but ignorant opinion that you've blathered on incessantly about while making one hypocritical statement after another about other posters and programs. Why didn't you respond to my post JBB? The post quoting your "potty mouth?" The only program being disgraced in this thread is that of ndsu's, the Little Green Nobodies, LGNs for short. Poor LGNs, they have JBB as their mascot, the king of disgraceful behavior. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

Oh, and your math was way off. NDSU scores a 3 on the "Elite Program Registry." But, as it turns out, that puts you dead even with Lafayette so this game should be a competitive one. FWIW, EWU scores a 41, and UM a 45. The scale goes to 50. You're welcome! :thumb:

  yea, its crystal clear! I also think Franks is calling you out again on your opinions. You seem to put a lot of stock in how a team did last year, at least when its convenient for you. What Franks is pointing out is the fact, that right in front of your nose, are examples of teams that have had dismal seasons followed by great ones. NDSU has just done that, Lehigh as Franks has pointed out did it, so why dismiss the Leopards because they stumbled last season? Your opinion on that is not backed up by the facts AzGrizFan.

Here's another thing that's not backed up by facts: just because the Laughayette game is big in YOUR mind, doesn't make it a game of "national significance" or a "spotlight game" or any of the other retarded monikers you want to keep applying to this game.

It's an OOC game against a mediocre opponent that you should roll by 24. But I see you're ALREADY working on your list of excused for when the game ends up 17-14. And godforfuckingbid if Laughayette actually BEATS your precious Bison.

"Fans" like JBB are an embarrassment. People want to root for the D-II program that just moved up to "do good." It's a classic David vs. Goliath feel-good story being ruined by JBB's pretentious ignorance and hate for anyone that fails to see ndsu as he does.

A majority of the ndsu fan base, particularly JBB, has substituted rational and sincere converstaion for vulgar and profane insults. Some poignant facts have been presented. Simply discussing the facts would have been a more creative and socially acceptable way of expressing ones self. Unfortunately, we saw some "acting out" and of course the result is a black eye for "The Little Green Nobodies". :ohno:

JBB, I'm concerned for you. You should get some help for your split-personality disorder and resulting childish behavior. You're making the Little Green Nobodies look even worse than they already do.

Its your opinion the Lafayette @ NDSU BISON game is not a big "spotlight" game.

The Lafayette game at NDSU is a big "spotlight" game because of these facts.
1) It will be one of the highest attended games in the country
2) Excellent media coverage
This alone makes it a big deal
3) NDSU is a top ranked team nationally, certainly in the national spotlight
4) NDSU is picked by some to finish atop the MVFC and get the Auto Bid.
Those two things are going to attract a lot of interest
5) NDSU is a big story because of their great season last year following a dismisal 3-8 the previous year. (Its the opinion of AzGrizFan that cant ever happen)
6) NDSU gained a lot of national attention last year in the playoffs and that respect is spilling over to this season
Two more facts on why this game is attracting attention

The last 2 arent even worthy of comment. Continually pointing to the fact Lafayette went 2-9 I think is proof enough and this game is listed nationally on all major scoreboards and is being discussed across the country in printed media and electronic communications such as this.

What you have is ONE poll, your OWN testimony, made up evidence and quotes from lakesbison to support your case that this game has some mythical "national" significance. And yea for Frank standing up for his team, but it doesn't change the FACT that they were 2-9 last year in the **** PATRIOT league and if you don't put 45 on them and win by 24 you should have serious doubts about your ability to compete in the MFVC.

How much we sould beat them by is not a measure of anything. Its pure opinion. 1 pt or a hundred, a win is a win. Thats a fact. Comparative scores are the basest comparisons you can make. Curious to most of us meaningful to fools.

Actually the NDSU secondary is expected to be very good. Several players of NFL abilities.

As far as print medial goes the Fargo Forum at in-forum.com is always a good start. Bison Media Blog is very active on game coverage as well. A lot of my information is taken from the printed media and brought here.

I think we can now all agree

1) The game is of national importance, on the level of a spotlight game
2) Lafayette has a rich football tradition
3) Expect a competitive Lafayette squad
4) Expectations for a sell-out are well founded
5) The elite college football registry points to a clash of traditions and commitment to the game over time with the intent to be competitive. It should be a whale of a game.
