Cal Poly schedules Wisconsin
According to SLOstang posting on the eGriz board. Good game for them, but right before the playoffs.. could be a deal breaker.

Re: Cal Poly schedules Wisconsin
why would it be a deal-breaker?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

If Poly is on the bubble getting into the playoffs, then eat a loss to Wisconsin.. might hurt their chances.

Playing a body-bag game before the playoffs is a pretty stupid idea.
Wisconsin: "Oh, you guys were planning on winning some playoff games? We'll just crack a few skulls & legs and end those hopes quick."

Re: Cal Poly schedules Wisconsin
Dunno...
There's little doubt the 'stangs have a good shot at a playoff team this year, but...
Taking it to the Badgers in their own house would send a message throughout FBS...
First Appy (admittedly, Nat.Champs), but then "Litte ol' Cal Poly who" from CA knocking out Wisconsin...
Think of it as the 'stangs taking the San Andreas fault to Madison...
A Natl. Championship is hard to beat...
But beating a powerhouse Big Ten team like Wisconsin is pretty damn close...
Anyway, for those of you who already know me, I'm going to be shifting my attention to West Coast teams this season, so you'll be hearing posts re: Portland, UC Davis, Poly, SD, SacState (don't get me started...) and will try to get up to E. Wash. (although the drive is...).
Starting w/ Portland to see what they'll do, not just this season, but am curious to see which direction G takes in recruiting in the long term. Brought in a lot of impressive looking frosh to go along with the jucos to "patch" the loss of their SR's, but I still have to believe the "kids" who get deveioped in his system from the start are going to outperform the jucos...we'll see...am going up in a few weeks to watch some practices.
Gotta get up to speed on SD and E.Wash, still think Sac is going a little light on the frosh, hope Sperbeck gets some beef soon, as do the Aggies. Signing extra light but fast looks good on paper, but keeps them off the depth chart for too long (also, I hope UCD's RS soph RB Trombetta stays healthy...he's a killer and plays with his head...every time he gets the ball he puts on a show).
Finally, I gotta make peace with Poly. Used to spend a lot of time there, then backed off...just took too much time for me to drive down from Sacramento. My sixth sense tells me the 'stangs are going to have another good year...but I'm hoping they save some up for the Badgers.
As unlikely as it may seem to many that the 'stangs can take it to Badgers in their house...I can still "hear" the silence in Ann Arbor. If you want something bad enough, and are willing to work tirelessly to get it...
