In a bizarre situation reminiscent of the '70's movie Black Sunday, Yahoo! is reporting that Iraqi national police have apprehended an al-Qaeda operative who had plans to commit some sort of terrorist act at a World Cup match in South Africa. The South African government claims to know nothing about it, but are posturing themselves as prepared for such an eventuality. The story mentions the World Cup connection (without specifying exactly how the dude planned to terrify the people at the match), but then tails off into other anti-al-Qaeda ops in Iraq.
