SC GOP State Senator: Obama and Haley "Ragheads"

Columbia, SC (WLTX)--Lexington County State Senator Jake Knotts is in a bit of hot water following his controversial remarks on Nikki Haley and President Barack Obama.

Knotts appeared on a Columbia internet talk show and used a racial slur to describe both Haley and Obama.

The program is called "Pub Politics" and on it Knotts said "We already got one raghead in the White House, We don't need a raghead in the Governor's Mansion."

Haley is of Indian-American descent and one of the show's host says Knotts made the comment after discussing Haley's background.

Haley has repeatedly stated that she and her husband are practicing Methodists.

Knotts did issue an apology shortly after his remarks. The senator said, "I still believe Ms. Haley is pretending to be someone she is not, much as Obama did, but I do apologize to both for an unintended slur."

Add on to this that some folks are saying they screwed her til she screamed in the past is really making the the build up to tuesday interesting. Haven't really kept up with it so it is hard to tell if the adultery charges are real or just a last chance effort to make her lose. The party elites don't like her because she has always been a Sanford supporter (maybe she is really from Argentina) and is not supportive of the good ol' boy network.

If I lived in South Carolina, I wouldn't vote for him either. Why do candidates have to tear each other down? Why can't candidates speak about the issues and what they will do? Instead he goes negative and insults someone. It is so disgusting.

What a dumbass. I have nothing more to add to this thread. I love my part of the country, but I admit that people like this make it hard to tolerate being a Southerner. I want to kick his ass, but at the same time I have to respect his right to be stupid. It's a major personal conflict I must confess to suffering from as a proud citizen of the
South. Fuck this guy and everyone who thinks the way he does.
