NEW YORK (AP)—Alex Rodriguez(notes) became the youngest player to hit 600 home runs Wednesday, reaching the milestone in the first inning against Toronto at Yankee Stadium.
Rodriguez’s 17th homer of the season sailed over the center-field wall and landed in Monument Park, allowing a stadium worker to fetch him the ball.
He raised a hand slightly in triumph as he rounded first base, then completed his trot. He joined an elite club that includes Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714), Willie Mays (660), Ken Griffey Jr.(notes) (630) and Sammy Sosa (609).

CONGRATS to the only good Yankee
Seriously? The only team I hate more than the Yankees are the Cowgirls, but there's no question the only good Yankee is Jeter. At least, I can respect him. AROID is fraud.

You have your criteria, I have mine
What's your criteria? Shoots foreign objects into his ass for pleasure?
There's no doubt A-Roid is a great player, there's no doubt he has had a great career... without shooting steroids or whatnot into his ass, he would not be where he is. I think he would have had a great career, HOF at that... but would he have 600 HR's? Probably not. At this stage in his career, probably high 400 to mid 500 HR's without roids.
