Yet more proof UNI gets every teams best shot every single week, and is the team that others prepare the hardest for.

MACOMB — The Western Illinois Athletics Department has announced “Operation: Defend the Turf”, highlighted by $1 general admission tickets, for the final home game of the 2010 regular season at Hanson Field against Northern Iowa on November 20.
The $1 general admission tickets are the start of “Operation: Defend the Turf” as Western Illinois athletics looks to attract a record-crowd for the regular season finale against Missouri Valley Football Conference rival Northern Iowa. So far the Leathernecks have notched a perfect 5-0 record on Hanson Field in 2010.
“Our primary goal is to put as many people as possible in the stands at Hanson Field on November 20,” said Assistant Athletic Director Sean McDonough. “The team has done their job in their first five home games this year, our fans have been great in coming out to support our team so far and we want to ensure that we all continue to defend our home turf.”
Western Illinois football has recorded 21 undefeated seasons at home, 12 of which have come at Hanson Field. The 1998 squad went 5-0 at Hanson Field during the regular season and earned a pair of playoff victories on the home turf for a school-best 7-0 mark overall for the year. The 1971 team collected the most regular season wins at Hanson Field with a 6-0 record.
“Operation: Defend the Turf” will include other promotions and special deals to Leatherneck fans that will be announced over the upcoming days. Check back at GoLeathernecks.com for updates and information.
The Leathernecks travel to Carbondale, to battle Southern Illinois on November 13, before closing out the regular season against Northern Iowa. Tickets are available over the phone at (309) 298-1190 or online at GoLeathernecks.com

I'd do the same thing if I had been beaten 79-6 on my home field two years in a row by UNI..............

I may actually try to make the game now.

I think I have tickets to a concert that weekend though.

Sorry to say but I know for a fact that SDSU prepares harder for the NDSU game clenzy, but yes it is usually a bigger game for most teams, because UNI always has a team at the top of the conference, leading to it being a more important game for everyone.
