Federal Workforce

Post by kalm »

Stumbled across this question at Yahoo Answers.com. I've also heard that there are less federal workers today than under the Johnson administration. What do ya think?
Why do fewer people work for the U.S. government today than in the early 1990s even though government is larger and spends considerably more money now than it did then?

A. The government has grown more efficient.

B. Most governmental activities today are more expensive but they are not more labor intensive.

C. The government employs large numbers of contract workers and funds many projects that are administered by state and local governments.

D. None of the above
