Excuse me, who do the Giants play?
The Giants? The New York "football" Giants?
What? They didn't make the playoffs??

JoltinJoe knows how to shut the average Eagles fan up.

So that means if the Eagles win, they go to Chicago?93henfan wrote:NFC: 8:00 PM (ET) Seattle or New Orleans or Green Bay at Atlanta (FOX-TV)

I'd have to believe that the Seahawks and Saints are huge Eagles fans this week. Who wants to go to Chicago in January?

Mr. Hooper: Can you, boys and girls, use the words "Eagles" and "Super Bowl" in the same sentence?
First Boy: Sure. How many Super Bowls have the Eagles lost?
Mr. Hooper: Very good.
Girl: The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl.
Mr. Hooper: Right you are. How about you?
Second Boy: How come the Eagles have never won a Super Bowl?
Mr. Hooper: Because. Just because.

Too bad baseball didn't rename their championship in 1967 like football did. Then we could lop off twenty of the Yankees championships and pretend they never existed.

If it makes you feel better, I'll acknowledge that the Eagles have won 3 NFL championships in 78 years.
Re: NFL Playoff Schedule Released
Ok, let's do that. So let's see. The team with the most baseball championships since 1967 would be ... let's check, hold on a second ...93henfan wrote:Too bad baseball didn't rename their championship in 1967 like football did. The Yankees with 7!
Re: NFL Playoff Schedule Released
No doubt. And you'd be acknowledging that sports, even football, existed before 1967. Just trying to help you with your selective memory.JoltinJoe wrote:Ok, let's do that. So let's see. Heck, the pre-merger NY Football Giants were a wildly successful team. I'd be proud of that fact if I was a Giants fan.

It may be selective, but it ain't memory.93henfan wrote:No doubt. And you'd be acknowledging that sports, even football, existed before 1967. Just trying to help you with your selective memory.JoltinJoe wrote:

None of us here were around to remember the Eagles' last NFL title.
Well, maybe Ivytalk because he's so old.

So just to be clear, the Giants are not in the playoffs, again, this year?JoltinJoe wrote:It may be selective, but it ain't memory.93henfan wrote:

I dunno. My dad talks about it. I like listening to Chuck Bednarik talk about it. Plus, I love the iconic photo that season of Concrete Charlie shortening up Frank Gifford's career.

The last time they beat the Eagles was the week Barack Obama was elected. He probably doesn't want to talk about it.GannonFan wrote:So just to be clear, the Giants are not in the playoffs, again, this year?JoltinJoe wrote:

Agreed. Nobody else was even close to 11 losses in the NFL Championship game.93henfan wrote:Heck, the pre-merger NY Football Giants were a wildly successful team. I'd be proud of that fact if I was a Giants fan.

Re: NFL Playoff Schedule Released
The only team in Philly worth rooting is the Penn Quakers. Heck, the Quakers have won many more Ivy League football titles than the total numbers of championships won by Philly's four major professional sports teams, combined.
Go Penn!
