Editorial writing has really taken a downswing, hasn't it? I used to like when opinion pieces were based on hard facts and statistics. That opinion piece was based on nothing but an opinion, which is based off some assumptions he's created in his head to fit what he wants to write. It was like reading a glorified message board post.

Isn't that what it basically is? With so many blogs out there, pretty much anybody writes one anymore. We've lost the filter where we used to screen out the crazies and the real loons. Now those loons, on both sides of the aisle, have full access to spout whatever dumb ideas they have.
