9-28-11 A sad day in baseball history

Post by DJH »

Folks, on Wednesday September 28th 2011, baseball will be dealt a big blow. One of the true iconic structures in baseball history will be retired.

Pro Player Park/Pro Player Stadium/Dolphin Stadium/Dolphins Stadium/Land Shark Stadium/Sun Life Stadium will see its last baseball contest when the Mighty Marlins of Florida take on the Washington Nationals in a pivotal NL East matchup.

Ladies and Gentleman, please pay your final respects to the mecca, the shrine of baseball, the cathedral of the south, THE SUN LIFE STADIUM.

BREAKING!!!!

The Florida Marlins will be renamed the Miami Marlins.

This makes sense since the new stadium will be in Miami, instead of Florida.

As I was informed last week when I posted about this... its not news for those posters who live down there... but as such with Marlins baseball... no one could give a fuck to tell anyone other than the 25 people who attend games.

question about their world series years....did they sell out that whole stadium in '97 and '03? Even the seats way the hell out there in center field up in the upper deck.

They sold out their 2003 World Series games, partially because there were just as many Yankees fans as Marlins fans there.
