Who Will Be Fall Guy For Boston Collapse?
Assuming the Red Sox decide to fire someone because of the collapse, who do you think will be the fall guy?

I think Curt Young will be fired. Pitching has been the major issue all season.

You left off the over priced players who didn't earn their money.
It sucks to be John Lackey right now, but he's got to bear down and do his job. The guy's ERA in September was over 9, and he's worried about text messages from reporters.

Well I didn't include them because the two players most at fault (Lackey and Crawford) have untradeable contracts so there is ZERO chance of them going anywhere.BlueHen86 wrote:You left off the over priced players who didn't earn their money.

The players who could not be signed (Ortiz, Papelbon) aren't really the reason Boston missed the playoffs as a whole, yes Papelbon blew the game last night, but he has been such a huge part of their success this year, you cant pin the collapse on him.
I will say, there maybe a chance the Sox could trade Kevin Youkilis who has now been injured significant time the past two seasons, but they would have to find another 3B on the market to replace him.

100% on the players. Loaded roster with a bunch of all-stars and MVPs, and the underperformed big time.

Shouldn't "The Bambino" be a choice in this poll?

It seems that the "official" Red Sox position on this issue is to blame Papelbon....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
