Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
If the W&M team I saw Saturday is really 16th best in the country, then this is a very down year for FCS.
And I agree Maine is too low. They should be up around 6 -8.

Sep 3 - W at Azusa Pacific, 42-40

Oct 1 - W vs. Davidson, 42-0
Oct 8 - W at Valparaiso, 55-14

True, and please don't take my W&M comment as a swipe. I'm not sure the Hens are worthy of a top ten ranking, yet anyway.green&gold75 wrote:Incredible poll inertia.93henfan wrote:If the W&M team I saw Saturday is really 16th best in the country, then this is a very down year for FCS.

I don't really have an issue with UD/Maine -- from what I've seen yer Chickens have the 'best' path to 8-3. Maine can get to 8-3 but it's no lock.93henfan wrote:If the W&M team I saw Saturday is really 16th best in the country, then this is a very down year for FCS.

If W&M is going to make the playoffs I think they have the toughest path and will have to earn it. UNH has a similar tough road but 2 less losses than W&M (kinda the same with Towson except they really will have to earn it on the road).

Has ODU beaten any of the teams in the current top 25?

Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
That shouldn't be the criteria. Maine has a better W/L record, a head-to-head win and a win at JMU which is better than any win that UD has.Aho Old Guy wrote:I don't really have an issue with UD/Maine -- from what I've seen yer Chickens have the 'best' path to 8-3. The only reason UD is ranked higher is because UD started higher, which is based on last year's results and not this years results. It's just laziness and stupidity on the part of the voters.

Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
No, however that is not a very relevant question in a conversation about which CAA teams have the best chance to get to 8-3.93henfan wrote:Has ODU beaten any of the teams in the current top 25?
ODU has 5 wins and their schedule is Towson, @ Villanova, JMU, Richmond, and @ W&M.
Towson has 4 wins and after the game in Norfolk the Tigers schedule is @ W&M, UD, @ Maine, UNH, @ Rhode Island

True, but then who is having that conversation? This thread is about the 10/10 poll, asking if ODU has beaten any of the teams in the poll is relevant.MadMaxMonarch wrote:No, however that is not a very relevant question in a conversation about which CAA teams have the best chance to get to 8-3.93henfan wrote:Has ODU beaten any of the teams in the current top 25?

(I agree though, ODU has a good shot a 8-3)

Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
It's funny (peculiar, not haha) what a difference 1 year makes. Our schedule would have been much more brutal a year ago, and seemed to be a lot tougher through mid September than it does now. Based on what we know now, it's not out of the question that we finish 9-2. But I won't be surprised with 6-5 either. We have gotten VaTech-like breaks in every game. At some point, we will have to earn it the old fashioned way (offense and defense).BlueHen86 wrote:True, but then who is having that conversation? I mean...no offense to Alabama State and Jackson State but...
Never thought I see a day where not one but TWO SWAC teams were ranked in the Top 25 and ZERO MEAC teams...we'll never hear the end of this one...
Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
W&M's ranking is comical. Time to get better against #6 UNH.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
Indiana St. is for real. If they can get their BCS transfer QB to read a defense then I don't see many teams being able to compete with them. Shakir Bell is probably the FCS' most explosive back.89Hen wrote:8. Lehigh Mountain Hawks 5-1 2,728 10

Re: 10-10 TSN Poll
Eh. The MVFC is a lot like the CAA this year, two good teams and a bunch of average teams (CAA may be one good team). I can see ISU ending up 7-4 with what's left on the schedule, but they won't have beaten a single ranked team.panther-state wrote:Indiana St. is for real.
