What a jerk. Is it genetic or environmental? Is acting like a 3 year old in the Knight family genes or was it upbringing?

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Refreshing, if you ask me. I like a coach with some attitude and fire. No nice guys coaching for me. Give me a hard-ass coach over some nancy any day of the week. The nice guys can and do win, but I prefer strict guys. Give me a Gregg Popovich, Coach K, Bill Belichick, Nick Saban, etc. any day of the week over a players' coach.

Just curious? Are these seniors his recruits?
EDIT: Never mind, it sounds like he inherited these players.

I don't know much about Popovich but I don't think any of the other guys you mentioned would do something like that. I mean I don't think they'd come on at a Press conference and start attacking players in that way.rkwittem wrote:Refreshing, if you ask me. I like a coach with some attitude and fire. To me it's unprofessional. When you're a head coach of a college basketball program you're supposed to act like a professional. And not a professional wrestler either.

The problem with hard asses is that eventually players tune them out ask TOM COUGHLIN.rkwittem wrote:Refreshing, if you ask me. I like a coach with some attitude and fire. I agree that you need a coach that can be tough when he needs to be, but this is completely class-less. There are NO circumstances where you should call out your players individually on the college level. That is ridiculous to me. You criticize your team all you want, but making it personal is where I draw the line. He was completely out of line. There are many other ways to handle it, like maybe talking to each player personally. Addressing the media like that has no place in college basketball. Heck the first 10 seconds of the video explain it all.rkwittem wrote:Refreshing, if you ask me. I like a coach with some attitude and fire. No nice guys coaching for me. Well they responded. Southland Conference champs and they haven't lost a game since.
