Go Weber
This is probably the most favorable draw a Big Sky team has ever got in the postseason—the RPI ratings aren't even close. This is basically like Weber playing a somewhat better version of Montana St. at home.

Montana beat the Wolverines at home by double digits, & that was before the Griz found their offense.

Weber barely holds off the Wolverines, 72-69. The Wildcats, who lead the nation in free throw %, only got to the line 6 times over the entire game. I believe that's Weber's first postseason win since their 1999 upset of North Carolina.

(Or, if you believe Weber's live stats, Washington State just beat "Away Team")

I have officially become a anti CIT fan,

Weber has the highest RPI, the best Record and had the highest attended first round home game and Weber is forced to go on the road in round two. Wow talk about fair.

Weber (25-6 RPI-70) plays @ Loyola Marymount (20-12 RPI-118) on Sunday March 18th at 4pm MST

Ryan: It could be like one of the guys mentioned for the WBI: there was a bidding process, and Weber either chose not to bid for a second round home game or didn't bid enough.

It's stupid, I know. But UOP endured the same thing several years ago, making the finals almost all on the road before losing to SW MO St. I think that led to a home game against SW the next season.

That could be something for Weber to look forward to should they prove to be good road warriors. Looking at the remaining teams, I see no reason why BBQ U can't win this thing, even playing everything on the road.

Weber loses to Loyola Marymount in L.A. 84-78 in OT. The Wildcats rallied from 13 down to tie it with 23 seconds left in regulation, but gave up 16 points in the overtime. Weber only shot 38% and lost the boards by 17, though they did win turnovers by 7.

Damian Lillard scored 27 points in what was almost certainly his final game as a Wildcat. He went just 1/9 from the arc (the make was the one that forced OT), but made all 14 of his free throws. Five Lions ended up in double figures.

Wildcat starting SG Scott Bamforth missed the game due to unspecified personal reasons.

Wow - ODU topped everybody last night. Talk about bizarre - their star player, Bazemore gets pulled off the court during warmups and is arrested and taken into custody for violating parole for a DUI he received over the summer??

That a way to end your collegiate playing career!!

What a sh*tstorm we have going on down here!!!!! :ohno: :ohno:
He got a DUI last summer. Went to court and had jail time suspended and was ordered to take ASAP classes. He missed one in February and was ordered to appear in court. He missed that too. A warrant was issued for his arrest and after several weeks, the Va. Beach police decide to nab him 5 minutes before tipoff. (He was brought in, processed, and then released in a matter of a couple of hours).
Now I'm not saying that they should have let him play the game, but that is the worst possible time to make the arrest. They could have arrested him at any time. He wasn't hiding. The team had no time to prepare to play with his absense. But this is turning in to a publicity mess for the VB police department.

What did he do to violate the parole? If it was just showing up, then something fishy's probably going on.

EDIT: Just saw Flagship's post. That IS fishy....

With the reputation the VaBeach/Norfolk area has on these boards I'm sure they've been busy taking care of dealing with more serious & violent law breakers.

Who gives a ** when the cops come get you? They don't check people's schedules & arrange a pickup. If they picked him up at his dorm or apartment 2-4 hours before the game is that any better for you? Would you yourself rather be arrested at work in front of your boss & fellow employees or at home in front of your family? The answer is you don't get to make that choice neither did Bazemore. A lot of questions are being asked of ODU - not the police dept as to who knew what & when? Makes illegal tatoos in Columbus, OH seem trivial when you think about it....

I think the issue here is whether or not a warrant should be served as soon as it's issued, or if one should wait for the biggest media splash. A quiet takedown at the dorm or the dude's apartment is MUCH better than nailing him on the court. This is VERY similar to the jerk who went for the headlines in manufacturing an arrest of a nice guy like Jake Peavy at the Tampa Airport, on his way to a missions trip. That's the way it seems to be these days with even semi-celebrities; go for the big spash. It's stupid.
