Does Williams Deserve a Second Chance?

There is talk that Gregg Williams is about to be banned for life. Yet one of his alleged victims (one Kurt Warner) has tweeted (reposted to FB) that he believes Williams (all people, really) deserves a second chance.

Personally, I'm not sure where I stand on this. While I believe that intentionally putting someone out has no place in the game, I'm not a fan of "putting a skirt" on the quarterback, either. For most things, a first-time getting caught shouldn't be grounds for dismissal. But is this "most things"?

The league has taken stupid stands on stupid issues before. Hence the nickname of the "No Fun League". Is Goodell going to far in this? Is one's POV here at least partially determined by whether or not one likes the Saints/Rams?

He should never coach again at any level. He is the biggest POS in the history of football, being banned isn't enough I hope some player sues his ass.

I've lost about every ounce of respect I've had for Jeff Fisher for not canning him already.

Do you remember the likes of Ed Sprinkle, Jack Tatum, and Conrad Dobler? Sprinkle knocked QBs out with a cocked shoulder, Tatum paralyzed a guy, and Dobler messed up DLs with a nasty leg-whip.

I'm not saying I like Williams, but in light of THESE guys, one should think twice about calling Williams the "biggest POS in the history of football."

Take out the ACL, go at the head of players who've had a concussions. This guy is a coach trying incite and reward his players for possibly ending the careers of other players. There is no bigger POS that has ever been affiliated with the game, as coach he should be held to a much higher standard than any player.

I don't mind a coach wanting and expecting his defense to be physical but when you start listing the injuries of other players and are basically saying to target them...you've gone way too far. Seriously take out the knees of a player, at least if a player is doing that and being dirty they are on the field and also risking something. Williams' fat ass is sitting on the sideline, safe and sound while his defense does his dirty work.

I'm sure other coaches may have done similar things(hopefully not to this extent) but since Williams is the first one to be outed for it he is the biggest POS in NFL history. He deserves no second chance and should be happy if a lifetime ban is the only punishment he receives.

Yep asking for a lifetime ban for a coach that encouraged and paid players to injure other players is a definite sign this country is going off the deep end.

What he did should be completely condemned, it has no place in the game.

Williams instructed players to go after injuries and would reward them with cash (IRS issues here as well as it would be "income").

Players like Tatum played hard and hit hard. There is a difference between the two....I wouldn't expect you, of all people, to understand though.

Should the player who hit Eric LeGrand be banned from football? What about the guy that caused Mike Utley's paralysis?
