89: Breaking Out The Chainsaw

Post by 93henfan »

That was a helluva storm that rolled through Montgomery County last night. I stayed on this side of the Bay last night as my sons are in NC with their mom. I thought the roof was going to blow off. 80 mph winds and dozens of trees down at Congressional, suspending the AT&T National. 75 footer down across the 14th fairway. Wow.

I was just over the border in PA on the river. I have never seen it rain like that before. A couple loud thunders rumbling through the river valley and then it was like a heat lightning strobe light show for the rest of the night. Crazy stuff. 420,000 without power in metro baltimore. Happy to see I wasn't one of them when we got home last night. Two trees laying cut up on the side of my street though.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
