Affeldt Returns $500K Overpayment
As all the world knows, I am decidedly a San Francisco Giants HATER. But after reading this Yahoo! story, I am now a fan of Giants pitcher Jeremy Affeldt. It seems that in perusing his 2010 contract with the Giants, he found that he'd been overpaid $500K, or 5% of his $10M contract. Everyone he talked to, from his agent to a Giants assistant GM said that the contract was correct, so he could keep the $$. But Affeldt had too much integrity to take $$ that wasn't his, so he returned it.
So, I don't like the Giants, but THIS is a player I would love to have on MY team any day of the week!
