Adams just played an OVC team & was below his season averages (including efficiency).

West would've likely had a bigger season, though. Run defense wasn't the OVC's forte.


I would've voted for Garoppolo over Adams based on where things were at the end of the regular season. Adams is unusually reliant on throwing the ball into coverage & having his receivers outleap defenders. Garoppolo had a somewhat disappointing performance against Towson, however—he let himself get rattled too easily.

He went over 2000 against the MVFC. Sounds like there could be some education done on defense there too...

I don't think coming in third in the Payton award is really going to affect T-West. Now the O-line, well, lets just say the EWU D-line better have a good pre-game breakfast.

vs San Diego State - J. Garoppolo 31/46 - 361yds 3 TDs
vs Northern Illinois - J. Garoppolo 34/49 - 450yds 6 TDs 2 INT

2 games, and incase no one knew, outside the OVC. . . 811yds 9 TDs 2 INT.

He put up good numbers not only against weak teams int he OVC but also about FBS schools going to Bowl games. Not to mention the numbers he put up against a TSU defense (twice) that was ranked high nationally all year.

Not saying hes God's gift to football or that he should be drafted #1 pick or that hes even going to be a great QB in the next level... but the kid performed well.
