Tanaka is on the DL with an elbow problem.
That's 4 starting pitchers that the Yankees have lost. :ohno:

Gotta get that WS home-field advantage.

Not rooting for St. Louis, Flaggy? Wainwright is starting!

I have been taking note of the Cardinal fans. They have always had a great reputation for support and it is certainly true. They have a good history here and the fans love their team.
But the difference between St. Louis sports fans and New York sports fans is that you will rarely hear them say anything bad about the Cardinals. In St. Louis, you are more likely to hear, "Aw shucks, he struck out for the 10th time in a row. He'll get a hit next time." In New York, you are more likely to hear, "HE SUCKS. SEND THE BUM DOWN TO THE MINORS WHERE HE BELONGS OR TRADE IF FOR A WARM SIX-PACK WHILE YOU STILL CAN."

That's because east coasters are ass holes.

Wait until college football and wait for Mizzou, Iowa, or Nebraska to fall short of expectations then you'll hear the rough stuff.

Around here college sports are the pro sports and the pro sports are just filler between college fb and bb games.

Though wait for the Bears to fall apart... That crowd might bring back memories

Puig followed a 0 HR performance in the Derby with an 0-for-3 (3 K's) in the AS game.

Absolutely shameful that there was nothing done for Gwynn or any of the other super stars that made the game what it is last night.

Joe Buck could send a birthday shout out to his daughter and they could spend 100000 hours on Jeter but not even 30 seconds for Gwynn, Zim or Welch.

What a fucking joke.

All 100 Times Jeter's Name Was Mentioned On Fox—And All Zero Of Gwynn's

Video in link

Lest you forget, Fox was sure to make you aware that this is Derek Jeter's final season in the majors. The Captain's name was spoken no fewer than 100 times on tonight's All-Star Game broadcast, but at what cost? That of remembering people like Tony Gwynn, Don Zimmer, or Bob Welch—none of whom were mentioned during the broadcast.

Some have called for a mid-game "in memoriam" break, similar to those seen during Hollywood awards shows. That would probably make an already notoriously-long broadcast even longer, but what other opportunity does the game of baseball have to honor those who have passed? (When Ted Williams died prior to the 2002 All-Star Game, MLB responded by naming the game's MVP award after him; then, due to the game ending in a tie, didn't give the award out after all.)

The All-Star game doesn't determine homefield for those. Try to keep up. :kisswink:

And that's a problem for the Mariners and exactly my point. 8-)

Their biggest problem is getting consistent hitting from someone not named Cano. If they can pick up a couple of bats before the deadline, they'll be a force to be reckoned with.

I have to say that I was disappointed with Jeter last night. I'm a big Jeter fan and I believe that he deserves all the accolades he gets, but he is one terrible interview. 9 times out of 10 I am left disappointed by his interview personality. You would think that last night, especially after getting pulled from the game, he would lighten up. Geesh. If he had Nick Swisher's personality, he could rule the world.

Yeah. It would be interesting to know why.
Maybe they felt that it would be more appropriate to do at the upcoming Hall of Fame ceremony or during the World Series. I don't know.

The released a statement yesterday saying that they didn't want to single out any one player that passed away....

So instead of paying a short tribute to each (didn't have to be much more than a minute video of each...so...maybe 10 minutes of a 3 hour broadcast) they did nothing.
