I think they had a shot but not with five turnovers like that. Basically looks to me like a game in which both defenses had difficulty stopping the other team's offenses. With one exception every time Florida State turned it over it was a drive stopping turnover when they were moving the football. When you do that in a game like this one you take away your chance to get points and give the ball back to the other offense when your defense can't stop them. So it's kind of like spotting the opponent 7 every time it happens. When it happens five times that adds up.
Quack.

I attended the 1994 (1/1/95) Rose Bowl and let me tell you that 50,000 people blowing duck calls is really fucking annoying. I was glad that Penn State kicked Oregon's ass. The 4th quarter was nice and quiet.
I don't think that would have happened with Bowden in charge.
That said, I STILL would rather watch the REAL D-I title game in Frisco. Heck, some network executive stupidly moved THIS game to ESPN. The Rose Bowl has pretty much always been an ABC game. Stupid....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

The 2nd half reminded me of the Griz/Cat game this year.

You've never watched Oregon obviously... They play lay back and strip defense
Oregon is twice the team Florida State is
