The Big West Conference is sponsoring a new championship in 2016: co-ed slow pitch softball! It'll be held at Hawai'i in 2016. Teams will consist of equal numbers of baseball and softball players, save for UC Irvine, which can substitute any female spring athletes as they don't sponsor softball. This'll be fun to watch!

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
