Four Fannie Mae execs to get big bonuses

Troubled mortgage giant Fannie Mae planned to pay four top executives retention bonuses ranging from $470,000 to $611,000, according to a February SEC filing......

....The bonuses were necessary to keep Fannie's most experienced executives working to reverse the effects of the mortgage crisis, FHFA Director James B. Lockhart told CNN.

I love "retention" bonuses to keep the fcuking morons with the company that caused the company to practically go bankrupt. Am I the only one that sees the madness in what the government and these companies are doing?!?!? Where I come from, if you bankrupt a company, your ass is on the curb. What a joke.

Yeah. I'd LOVE a high six figure bonus for running a company into the ground. I'd run it in a LOT faster, if that were the reward!

Exactly...where can I sign up for that gig? I could do it in 2 months easy. Through in an extra $50k, I'll have it bankrupt in half the time! If I am unsuccessful, I'll take my severence package, thanks.

Why not just let them quit? I'm sure that there are willing and able people high up in Fannie and Freddie ranks are willing to work without the bonuses. Hell, find someone in middle management who has demonstrated a good work ethic and accumen for their business.
