Devin Booker!!!!!

Post by dal4018 »

Scored a career high 70 pts in loss to Boston 130-120 on his way to scoring the aforementioned career high he replaced HOF Jerry West as the YOUNGEST person ever to score 60 pts ever at the age of 20!!!! That is the new single game standard for the Phoenix Suns.

Sad that the coach had the team foul the Celtics, to give Booker more time to get to 70.

But Phoenix still lost the game he replaced Jordan as the one person who had a career high against them on their home court.

Still a sketchy way to get to 70 points. The game was over, and coach Watson was calling timeouts and having his players foul, just to give Booker more time to score. Kobe didn't need any help getting to 81.

Pretty close on shots taken, only 6 more for Kobe
Kobe 28-46
Booker 21-40

Then you look at Free Throws, Booker too 6 more free shots.
Free Throws
Kobe 18-20
Booker 24-26

They both shot the ball 66 times between FG and FT. Kobe was a better shot from the field.

You think 46 shots plus another 20 FTs is not shot happy? Since the 83-84 season, that is the 5th most FG attempts in a game. Booker's game is tied for 20th most and most this year. Remember that there are only 48 minutes in a game and neither guy played a full game. Booker's FT attempts were 26th most since 83-84 and Kobe's was not in the top 100.

You can't score that many points without shooting a ton - it's just math. In Wilt's 100 point game he took 63 shots from the field and 32 free throws.

Not arguing against that. Dal just had indicated he didn't believe that Kobe was shot happy that game and Kobe definitely was. Not a good or bad thing, just what it was. Lakers won that game so not as much of an issue.

Odds are, anyone who scores 40 or more was "shot happy" in that game. Scoring 70 is very shot happy.
