JMU (5 so far)
-QB Ben Dinucci, 7th Rd, Cowboys
UDFA
-DE Ron'Dell Carter, Cowboys
-DE John Daka, Ravens
-WR Brandon Polk, Rams
-TE Dylan Stapleton, Texans

Still waiting to hear if WR Riley Stapleton and CB Rashad Robinson get UFDAs.

JMU has put 5 into camps before, but never more (not counting rookie minicamp tryouts, but actual training camps under contract).
2010- Two 6th Rd picks/3 UDFA. 4 made rosters.
2018- 0 drafted/5 UDFA (2 weren't until last season). 3 made rosters.

I-AA/FCS picks since the draft decreased from 12 to 7 rounds in 1993:
1993: 17
1994: 22
1995: 22
1996: 29
1997: 27
1998: 17
1999: 27
2000: 21
2001: 16
2002: 18
2003: 12
2004: 15
2005: 16
2006: 15
2007: 18
2008: 21
2009: 17
2010: 17
2011: 19
2012: 15
2013: 16
2014: 17
2015: 17
2016: 20
2017: 15
2018: 19
2019: 13
2020: 6
https://herosports.com/nfl/draft-fcs-pi ... -2019-ajaj

I-AA goes from recent history of 13-20, to 6.
Div II goes from recent history of around 5-6, to 2.

That can't be a coincidence. Pro Days at colleges and universities, and all the other cancelled pre draft scouting, workouts, interviews, and investigative stuff I bet hurt a lot of the I-AA & Div II fringe late round prospects more than the I-A guys. They'll probably be just as many I-AA UDFAs. How many are drafted doesn't matter as much as how many I-AA's make rosters. Will be interesting to see that comparison to previous seasons.

Yep, as 89 and I have been saying, the FCS talent level has dropped decade to decade for the past four decades. You see a huge drop from the 90s to 00's with Marshall and Boise St leaving in particular. Then a smaller drop from the 00's to the 10's with App St and GeoSo leaving, but still a drop.

You just can't lose great teams without a drop. NDSU singlehandedly made the 10's close to the 00's. Without NDSU, the drop would be stark.

But again, how dreadful has NDSU made the subdivision, winning year after year after year? It's horrible to watch for anyone outside of North Dakota.

But then how do you explain 2016 (20 drafted) and 2018 (19 drafted), more than any year between 2001-2010, before longtime I-AA App St, GSU, UMass, TX State moved up?

I averaging over entire decades. Those are individual outlier years. There are those in every decade.

Hornet DE George Obinna has signed with Cleveland. Big mistake, IMO. I hope he gets traded to a better team before camp is out....

In 1993, the NFL drafted 6 FCS/IAA players in the 8th round. hmmm.

So what you're saying is four schools that 'recently' left I-AA had as many picks as the remaining 126 I-AA schools. :suspicious: Are you REALLY sure you want to continue? This simply isn't a fair fight Gil.

Oh, BTW:

Sorry, I didn't think those were included as power schools that left FCS, 8 years total between the 3. So according to Sagarin, only 2 of those 12 teams were ranked ahead of Montana. Montana was the 3rd ranked Big Sky School. FCS is as good as ever.

But then how do you explain 2016 (20 drafted) and 2018 (19 drafted), more than any year between 2001-2010, before longtime I-AA App St, GSU, UMass, TX State moved up?
In 1993, the NFL drafted 6 FCS/IAA players in the 8th round. hmmm.
HERO said 1993 was when they went to 7 rounds. Maybe it was the 1993 season, 1994 draft, and they are off by a year? I didn’t double check their work..

So what you're saying is four schools that 'recently' left I-AA had as many picks as the remaining 126 I-AA schools. :suspicious: Are you REALLY sure you want to continue? This simply isn't a fair fight Gil.

Oh, BTW:

Yeah, the drive bys (FAU, FIU, UNCC, ODU, GST), that only spent 2-3 seasons in I-AA, shouldn’t be counted.
