Sacramento State should’ve built their brand new 30,000 seat stadium first, just like ODU, Liberty & JMU. It’s hard to negotiate when your football stadium includes a track and 20,000 bleacher seats.

I object to that, BF. Not so much the stadium size but the bogus idea that track is a detractor. The football stadium SHOULD have a track. But it should also have 30K+ seats....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

The point is Sacramento State hasn’t built that stadium yet. It seems like CSUS saw an opportunity, and did everything they had to do, on paper, to get approved for their FBS transition. I think CSUS could’ve attracted an FBS Conference Invite easier if they had built their promised stadium first before they began officially negotiating Invites. That could be the very reason CSUS is having this issue.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 10:49 am I object to that, BF. Not so much the stadium size but the bogus idea that track is a detractor. It's largely because I've done both, and I feel that the sports benefit each other.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Sun Aug 10, 2025 6:59 amI think you’re the first person I’ve ever seen defend a football stadium having a trackSuperHornet wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 10:49 am I object to that, BF. That I would agree with, BF. I don't want the Hornets to move up, anyway, but move up or not, a new stadium minus the erector set bleachers and portable heads IS required....BlackFalkin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 6:29 pmThe point is Sacramento State hasn’t built that stadium yet. I haven't heard anything about that (other than that it happened). However, it wouldn't surprise me if the name recognition of DeSean Jackson had something to do with it.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Tue Aug 12, 2025 4:17 amAll rightSuperHornet wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 5:27 pm

That said, per the roster, he's officially a grad student. Many players take off for greener pastures associated with their planned master's degree. Unlike that idiot with U$C a few years back who took that extra year to take dance classes with his chick....

Do you bring binoculars to a football game with a track around the stadium because you‘re sitting so far away?SuperHornet wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 5:27 pmIt's largely because I've done both, and I feel that the sports benefit each other.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Sun Aug 10, 2025 6:59 am

Had to deal with that at JMU on both sides until the rebuild in 2010-2011. At least the season ticket side was moved much closer to the field.
The best FCS stadiums for fan viewing (Wa Griz, UD before their rebuild at least), etc, were those without tracks.

A few years ago Del State was trying to recruit on Facebook … the bottom of the barrel type players is what they were getting for years and years
