We still have 2 years to go before our first game, but coach Bobby Wilder is working hard to make the start up at ODU work. ODU was included in the weekend college football preview, and the coach also sat down for an interview with WAVY-TV10 sports reporter Bruce Rader.
Here is the Daily Press article:

Re: ODU coach in the news.
Having ODU in the FCS and the CAA is the best thing that could happen to the state of Delaware, so we would like to welcome you! The first thing it does is take away from Hampton's recruiting base where they seem to have a field day in that Tidewater Area with recruiting. I know that ODU will be the progressive competitor that they are in their other sports which Hampton should not win many recruiting battles once ODU is up and running. So all of this give Delaware State a shot at the MEAC as they get stronger with Hampton weakening which could finally set up a playoff meeting between Delaware and Delaware State. At that point neither school could say the other is ducking them or anything they would have to play. The other thing that bringing in ODU does is make the commish of the CAA make some decisions along with other CAA programs. I cannot see the CAA going over 12 teams for the conference and I have heard Commissioner Yeager say that he wants CAA Schools that have all of their sports in one conference. I know that Georgia State is also garnishing momentum for FCS Football. This will eventually mean no trips to Orono, ME in the dead of Winter or New Hampshire, Massachusetts or Rhode Island for that matter. Personally, I would like to see all twelve members of the CAA in all sports also participating in CAA Football. Having a class athletic department like ODU start the wheels churning is a great start! I know it maybe tough but Mr. Yeager has done a great job with developing the CAA and I hope that he is in the ears of George Mason , Drexel , Virginia Commonwealth and UNC-Wilmington trying to talk to them about developing programs or maybe even helping with incentives. These next few years promise to be very interesting.
YOU HAVE JUST ENTERED BLUE HEN COUNTRY!
