Looking at the price of gas on two different days probably paints an accurate picture of the last 15 or so years.
I have no idea if gas was more expensive under Bush or Obama... but, it might be better to look at the average price over a longer time period if you actually care about finding out.

Also, all gas prices are a mother fucker. I self hate filling up at $1.90 and less and feeling good. Anyone who started driving in the late 80's should feel the same way. Sub $1 gas was a wonderful time. Emptying your change and getting a couple gallons before pay day. JEAMK!!!
