Go back and read the original posts, klean. Most of us were against intervention in Syria.

That being said, I'll probably buy more ammo at lunch for when the Rooskies invade.

Did you notice that there are more "no" and "hell no" votes than "yes"?

Of course not.

I think i'll change my "no" to a "hell no!!!"

President Un-Predictable predictably chooses Option #1 from Page 1 of the United States International Crisis Handbook: The 'Launch $100m worth of Tomahawks and speak in stern voices' strategy has been our go-to for nearly 30 years. How's that working?

If President Un-Predictable wanted to make a statement, he would have offered a 20-minute warning prior to leveling the New Shaab Presidential Palace in Damascus with those Tomahawks.

He pussy'd out.

This is true to the extent that if you are going to be a unilateral war maker, make it count

If you're going to dip your toe in the water, do it with a bit of reason and purpose then walk away. The 'Air Base' was simply too little / too lame. We could have taken out the Palace with 30 and exposed all their SAM. USA! USA! - "See You At The Hague, Dirt-Bags"

Let the sheep bleat and wring their hooves. American values are first, or something like that. No one (at least in the rights minds) relishes "USA: World Cop" but statement events require statement responses that we alone can deliver. Blowing up 6 acres of Palace in a war-torn country the size of North Dakota ain't nothing. It's what we do.

And, don't worry. Assad is hiding in a spider-hole, somewhere, in an undisclosed location. His 'government' is safe for now, but is advised to fully consider permanent relocation to his vacation home on Lake Siberia. Otherwise, I see a visit to the Hotel Hague for you, Comrade.

Several of the 2+ dozen facilities closed by the 'Prohibition of Chemical Weapons' bunch retained some operational status. I wonder if Russia had anything to do with that, or how interested they are now, in closing them for good. It would be interesting if any of those disparate bunch of rebels had control at any time ...

It's a cesspool. Why would you want to put any boots in that? Except for some with laser designators, of course. You have to be prepared if one of those high-value targets of opportunity pops up. We gots all types of fancy munitions dialed-in to that.

This should be a nice chance to assess Russian air defenses, assuming the troops were sober and manning them.

Philosoraptor wonders: “If gassing children with one chemical weapon is terrible, wouldn’t blowing up the chemical weapons storage facility in Damascus be like two hundred times as terrible?”

We whacked over 200 Russian contractors (that’s a fact, BTW). We whacked 4-5 Russian warplanes. We have Pootie Poot and Servile Lavrov asking to be allowed to coordinate our punitive attacks on Assad (I hope they put some Russian assets in the way of things they want to protect).

Personally, I would DIE to be in the room with Assad’s people and the Russians when the Russians explain to their proxy that they can’t park a Russian MiG beside each Syrian MiG, or why they can’t put Russian soldiers next to Syrian chemists AHEM I mean doctors

Sorry, I like witnessing Russian diplomatic pain and discomfort... they experienced it so little over the last several years

Now we’ve achieved more in the last 1 year than we achieved in the 8 before it... and it has nothing to do with Syria... we’ve poked The Bear square in the eye, and that warms this old cold warrior’s heart.

Given Russia, we can all get behind that, AMIRITE?

Now GTF out of Syria

So hard, it's so hard listening to Trump even speak about this on TV last night. Almost as hard as listening to a HRC speech.

Thanks, Germany.

Merkel rules out German participation in military strike on Syria
Chancellor Angela Merkel said Thursday Germany would not participate in an attack on Syria over the suspected use of chemical weapons by President Bashar al-Assad’s government.

“Germany will not take part in military action,” Merkel told reporters during a visit to Berlin by Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. “But we see and support that everything is done to send a signal that this use of chemical weapons is not acceptable.”

Merkel said a full spectrum of measures should be considered. In Germany’s case, the chancellor said, that would mean supporting the work of the United Nations Security Council and the chemical weapons watchdog OPCW.
 OK, Germany, you take the refugees.

This is what carrying a big stick looks like when dealing with Russian proxies

https://hotair.com/archives/2018/04/14/ ... ars-syria/

Suddenly Russia wants a UNSC meeting

We should just veto everything

the Russian (and Chinese) huffing and puffing should be on PPV

I'd pay

But US troops glassing a couple hundred Ruskies goes against the "Trump is a Russian agent" narrative...that makes no sense...

Vid on the Russians and their bright idea to attack a fixed US position. Well done Russia, well done.

A few months ago Trump gave a speech at the UN where he stated that his policy is America first and that every other nations leader should put their country first. I don't think we have any room to complain if Merkel decides it's not in Germany's best interest to bomb Syria and opts to put Germany first.

Then Germany should pull out of NATO since they funnel their money to their economy instead of the military obligations set forth in the agreement. Can't have it both ways.
