A few months ago Trump gave a speech at the UN where he stated that his policy is America first and that every other nations leader should put their country first. I don't think we have any room to complain if Merkel decides it's not in Germany's best interest to bomb Syria and opts to put Germany first.

Then Germany should pull out of NATO since they funnel their money to their economy instead of the military obligations set forth in the agreement. Can't have it both ways.
