I actually believe that climate change is being discredited because of the mob mentality of those who don't understand the science behind it other than what's being fed to them by certain political think tanks.JayBilasBitesPillows wrote:Study mob mentality, and you can better understand my suspicion.
These are really long reads (and there's more if you want), but they help make clear how we've come to this point where the extensive research and science behind climate change is real, and yet the public perception of it is so divided, especially among conservatives who deny it so much more fervently.

I think it basically boils down to black and white world view versus gray. Whether or not this equates to left leaning bias is the interesting question, and JMUDJ seems to be making a strong point here.

This is the exception where "effect' is correct to use as a verb.
For example. "The politician hoped that his candidacy would effect change in the political discourse."
Look it up,and learn, tool.

Negative, Opossum, incorrect usage on your part. Your sentence clearly calls for "affect". One would effect integrity, whereas one would affect the integrity.OpieGSU wrote:Actually, you're wrong, dumbass.houndawg wrote:

Or to use your example - one would not say the politician hoped his candidacy would effect the change in the political discourse. Either way you are wrong.

One would effect integrity or affect the integrity. Maybe he did it on purpose like his "misspelling" misoyginist "on purpose".

The use doesn't hinge on you placing the word 'the" after the verb, guy. Are you really that stupid. You shot your mouth off and you got proved wrong. Go back to G.E.D. class, and keep grasping. Sorry Opie, back of the class for you. You should have said "...affect the integrity of the scientific process". The integrity doesn't need to be "effected", it's already there.OpieGSU wrote:The use doesn't hinge on you placing the word 'the" after the verb, guy. Are you really that stupid. You do realize that doesn't make any sense, right?
You're wrong, you've been proven wrong, and your continued posts insisting that you are correct, make zero sense at at grammatically.

Re: Liberal Conspiracy
Exactly, Opee, it doesn't make sense in your original sentence when used as a verb. That's what I've been schooling you on. If you're going to hang around here, you need to keep up.OpieGSU wrote:huh?houndawg wrote:

"Effect" when used as a verb means "to create".
Your original sentence: Why is it so hard for you people to believe that there are those out there with ethics and professional responsibility, who would not allow their personal politics to effect the integrity of the scientific process.
Now see how the verb meaning is all wrong?
If you affect something, there is an effect. Personal politics would affect integrity of the scientific process.
You're my bitch now, Oboe. Now go blow citdog, he gave me some cigarettes.
