I assume you didn't go to high school in the Bodymore, Murderland sections of Baltimore, made famous in HBO's The Wire.
Nope..
But I used to live on the 600 block of N. Charles and walk every day to the Maryland Institute College of Art
I went there for a year - loved the school but got tired of being mugged and harassed on the street back then

Baltimore was VERY a different downtown back then - the Inner Harbor was basically closed off at night by police squad cars (other than 2 bars at the entrance)

1) I saw a guy get shot at
(have no idea what happened next) we ran like Hillary across the tarmac baby
2) I was in a bar one night when the cops basically raided the place (fucking nightmare)
3) Got straight up mugged walking to school more than once
4) Got my ass absolutely kicked in the middle of the day in down town Baltimore buy three guys who wanted my art folder (obviously they didn't know what is was but it looked like something worth stealing)

So after the school year ended - I left that fucking dump of a town
But now its a dramatically different place - much has changed for the better

1980 was the beginning of the renovation of the Harbor Area of Baltimore
I left the summer of 1983

By 1983 you could tell the city had its eye on the inner Harbor and a serious clean-up job
They we bulldozing drug dealers houses and parking Cop Cars in there around the clock
It was a War Zone in the early 80's in there

This (Below) Pavilion was the beginning of the transformation

So, who should I invest in? I mean, after the city burns, who is already set with a contraction for the rebuilding. I know a winner has already been picked. This is America.

I remember when they were building that. Camden Yards is just a few blocks behind (west) of it. The National Aquarium was also going up about the same time IIRC.

The same architect (not Costanza) did the single building mall in Norfolk in the same, early 80's, time frame.

Yes. She teaches, so 75% of the tuition was covered by her school anyway. She also was awarded a prestigious 4-year scholarship (a nice award in recognition for her previous experience and artwork), so she paid nearly nothing. Since she already had a Masters in Art Education, every lump of credits went towards maximizing her salary. She's paid well.

In addition, she has used her MFA experience and connections for other income opportunities during the year and especially the summer.

MICA was one of the top 3 MFA programs in the country and only took in 10 or so students per year (I'm sure it is still near the top, even though they expanded the program).

This reminds me of the story in the museum and something involving a jacket. Can't remember it exactly, but I remember it was funny as shit.

This wait is killing me. Need some good TV tonight. Sure there's a twin bill of MACtion football, but the best team is 7-3.

Need a grand jury decision around 2pm and darkies beating up defenseless old white people by 3:30 pm so there's plenty of footage for the evening news.
