Atheism requires as much faith as religiosity.

Obviously all the other Gods in history are fictional, but yours is correct. Religions come and go my friends, but feel comfort that yours will last forever. :thumb:

Also, this Pope is a joke. How is it working out for those homosexual Christians in Africa? Or the amazing cultures being destroyed by missionaries? Or the fact that women are still aren't equal to men under the Catholic Church? Or the worst thing of all, that he's done absolutely nothing substantial to prevent the sexual abuse his peeps like to commit or punish those who did.

But hey, he says nice things!

In our species males and females aren't equal biologically. The distributions of aptitudes are distinctly different. The population distributions of behaviors are distinctly different and it's not just environment.

Really, males and females aren't biologically equal?! I'm glad I learned something new today!

The point is that Francis says nice things, but he projects sexism and is a hypocrite regarding civil rights and his actions (or lack thereof) against molesters and those that turn a blind eye. He's better than past Popes, but that's such a low standard that it's laughable if these issues weren't so serious.

This whole thing in NC is because of a refusal to compromise. Proponents in Charlotte banked on (and were largely correct) that the screaming classes would vilify the state legislature if they went forward with the law.

But Charlotte refused to follow the lead of cities like San Francisco by simply mandating separate, gender neutral bathrooms. Instead, they preferred to push the issue.

This is an example of relying on the mob instead of going with a simple compromise that would have respected the rights of transgendered people and would not have goosed the legislature.

Sure. That's true of every single law that has ever been passed, and it applies to everyone.

Congratulations, Aristotle

So this "whole thing" isn't because of a refusal to compromise?
