I've been saying Hillary was a problem for a long time. Way back during the Democratic Primaries I was saying that if I were the Democrats I would nominate Sanders given the two realistic choices they had. First of all, there was just the fact that she was under FBI investigation and had all those other issues as well. Secondly, while she was on average something like five points ahead of Trump and losing to some of the other Republican Candidates in the polls Sanders was up on Trump like 15 or 20 points and also blowing out all of the other Republican Candidates.Gil Dobie wrote:Glad you are admitting Hillary was a problem.JohnStOnge wrote:
As you know it goes way beyond that. In 2009 Obama went into his Inauguration with an estimated 78% of the population viewing him favorably vs. only 18% viewing him unfavorably (http://www.gallup.com/poll/201977/trump ... y-low.aspx). Trump went into his with an estimated 40% viewing him favorably vs. 55% viewing him unfavorably. Of COURSE there was more enthusiasm for Obama.
I get the impression that Trump and his worshipers want to potray this as a situation in which this guy is riding the wave of some kind of movement where he is the Champion of the American people and they're galvenized behind him. That's not the case. More people voted for the other major candidate. Trump is deeply unpopular. And majorities of the American people disagree with most of his high profile positions.
He is an artifact of 1) the Democrats having a candidate with an unbelievable number of problems and 2) the electoral college system. He is not the choice of most of the people and he's not viewed favorably by most of the people.
And as the general election approached I said a number of times that Trump had a chance to win because Clinton was SUCH a bad candidate in her own right.
But at least she's a grown up who isn't mentally ill. She would've been a better choice than Trump.

Stupid of Trumpers to even bother disputing or even engaging in the Obama v Trump turnout. Obama's innaguration was a historic moment. Trump is just another white guy taking office.
If the Trumpers keep getting sucked in (trolled) to these weak as arguments they are going to get picked apart for the next 4 years.

The funny part about this is you guys having trouble believing that not that many people showed up to see a president with a 37% approval rating heading into office.
