It does go beyond that. And I think you really know it. Obama was just WAY more popular going into his inauguration than Trump is now. And it isn't just Trump. The metro was busier for Bush as well.
And all Obama had to do was make a layup to improve the country's situation compared to the time of his first inauguration. He made the layup but then gave up a three pointer on the other end of the court while he celebrated.

As you know it goes way beyond that. In 2009 Obama went into his Inauguration with an estimated 78% of the population viewing him favorably vs. only 18% viewing him unfavorably (http://www.gallup.com/poll/201977/trump ... y-low.aspx). Trump went into his with an estimated 40% viewing him favorably vs. 55% viewing him unfavorably. Of COURSE there was more enthusiasm for Obama.

I get the impression that Trump and his worshipers want to potray this as a situation in which this guy is riding the wave of some kind of movement where he is the Champion of the American people and they're galvenized behind him. That's not the case. More people voted for the other major candidate. Trump is deeply unpopular. And majorities of the American people disagree with most of his high profile positions.

He is an artifact of 1) the Democrats having a candidate with an unbelievable number of problems and 2) the electoral college system. He is not the choice of most of the people and he's not viewed favorably by most of the people.
Glad you are admitting Hillary was a problem.
I've been saying Hillary was a problem for a long time. Way back during the Democratic Primaries I was saying that if I were the Democrats I would nominate Sanders given the two realistic choices they had. First of all, there was just the fact that she was under FBI investigation and had all those other issues as well. Secondly, while she was on average something like five points ahead of Trump and losing to some of the other Republican Candidates in the polls Sanders was up on Trump like 15 or 20 points and also blowing out all of the other Republican Candidates.

And as the general election approached I said a number of times that Trump had a chance to win because Clinton was SUCH a bad candidate in her own right.

But at least she's a grown up who isn't mentally ill. She would've been a better choice than Trump.

I didn't see one as better than the other, but after the election the way the Clintonista's are acting like little children after they lost, makes me feel better about the Trump victory. He's a wake-up call to America.

I'm not an Obama fan but he's not the reason the Republicans lost. If he'd been able to run again he'd have blown Trump out.

The problem for the Democrats is that Obama couldn't run again and the person they did run had all sorts of problems. Hell, I think they'd be controlling the White House right now if they'd run Sanders. I think he'd have pistol whipped Trump in a general election. But they didn't do that.

And none of that matters either. What matters is policy. JSO has proven that he does not have the capacity to see through the BS and compare policies.

JSO still in full retard meltdown mode.

Stupid of Trumpers to even bother disputing or even engaging in the Obama v Trump turnout. Obama's innaguration was a historic moment. Trump is just another white guy taking office.

If the Trumpers keep getting sucked in (trolled) to these weak as arguments they are going to get picked apart for the next 4 years.

No, it really doesn't go beyond that. He was the first black President. The DC/Baltimore metropolitan area is 10 million people, of which about three million are negros. Don't forget Trenton...and Wilmington...and Chester, PA. And Camden.

Just curious of what the 11:30 Trump picture looked like to compare Apples to Apples. I'm sure there was still more in the Obama picture, but just wanted to see apples to apples.
The DC Metro system is so inefficient and run ass-backwards that there is no way they could have added more than a few thousand people between in 26 minutes.
Maybe there are a few thousand people hiding behind buildings because they don't like their photo being taken by a helicopter or drone?

I give Spicer about 6 months before he resigns. He isn't going to want to trot out there every time Trump has a temper tantrum.

Yup, but beyond that it was a non-liberal white guy taking office.

1. Libs outnumber Cons by a GREAT margin in the immediate DC area.

2. Libs love them some marches, protests, circle-jerk gatherings

Yup again. He seems like the wrong person for this job. Surprisingly watched MTP yesterday (holy crap is Dodd a dick). Tom Barrack came on at the end with the panel and completely diffused the rhetoric with his calm delivery. That's the kind of guy who needs to be speaking.

The funny part about this is you guys having trouble believing that not that many people showed up to see a president with a 37% approval rating heading into office.
