Of the top ten nations with foreigners immigrating to China, five are from historically white nations (US, Canada, France, Germany, Australia).

Yeah, but the numbers are pretty small, and the article states that China is restrictionist on immigration. Not any detail on the 70,000 US residents. Probably associated with commercial ventures, multinational law firms, etc. You don’t see waves of US citizens lining up for scarce visas to emigrate to that beacon of liberty and human rights.

They are all official Americans, workers with exceptional skills (working for American companies), and businesspeople. All of whom maintain permanent residence outside of China. This is a very odd angle Brookings is taking.

America is the most special case in the history of humanity. It's literally an ongoing experiment of an immigrant-heavy population and to be frank, it's clearly been successful as all hell.

As Reagan said, America is the "shining city on a hill." And I LOVE this country for it; the people it attracts are amazing. Whether poor or rich, black or white, smart or stupid, everyone here cares about liberty. We might be assholes to each other and disagree 99% of the time, but at the end of the day, you can usually share a beer with anyone, even if you can't share a language with them. Except Muslins...**** those people.

There's a lot wrong with white nationalist tenets and ideology, but there's one maxim they have that has truth to it: "Africa for Africans, Asia for Asians, white countries for everyone."

Africa wouldn't be for Africans if people actually wanted to immigrate there. Asia, mostly Eastern China, has seen quite the uptick of immigrant populations. And there are certainly white nations.

Human migration patterns isn't a particularly complex thing. It boils down to people immigrating to places which offer opportunity, with geography playing a role (whether because of destitution or bordering conflicts).

Western Europe is successful. Geographically, it makes sense for Africans and Arabs to migrate there.

Eastern China is becoming successful. It's certainly attracting immigrants from all over the world right now, including white Europeans and Americans.

America is successful. Geographically, it makes sense for Latin Americans to migrate here. And even within the United States, immigrants tend to move to successful areas.

Would any of you want to immigrate to Africa? Would any of you want to immigrate to the Middle East? I certainly wouldn't. Could you see yourself living in Eastern Europe (which are white nations)? I'd say most of you would answer no.

Now ask yourselves, could you see yourself living in Western Europe? Or perhaps Canada? How about China if there's some serious money to be made?

Canada has been giving us a taste of our own medicine: a friend of mine was denied entry two years ago because he had a warrant from the mid-70s when he was in college for "dog off of leash" which had supposedly been cleared up decades ago. If you've ever had a DUI they consider you a felon and no entry for you. I had a DUI back in the day and successfully crossed at Niagra falls many years ago so Kyle's incident could have been a fluke. He says that when the old warrant came up the boys at the border became decidedly unfriendly...

Why don't people care that even countries like Japan (whose birth rate has fallen through the floor) have stubbornly refused to take in refugees? I even saw where an anonymous Japanese government official made a remark that they didn't want their women raped by Arab refugees. Why don't people call them nazis or bigots or whatever?

The only answer I can come up with is white guilt. Liberals have it drilled in their heads that the white man is the source of all the problems in the world and built it's civilization and made all the scientific and medical advances at the expense on brown people and they feel they need to make it right by us taking on all of the burden of giving sanctuary. Is xenophobia only xenophobia when white people do it? Or are they a bunch of bigots who only want white countries to have the joys and enrichment of a diverse society?

Fairly certain there’s a non-assimilation/racist streak among them.

I don't think you're right about the guilt, at least not to the degree you think. I heard a black comedian doing a riff on something like this, about why white folk shouldn't get butthurt because black folk get to use the n word. I got into a discussion with a Korean girl on the balcony of a bar on Bourbon St. years ago talking about the "Asian hierarchy". Her words, "1. Japan 2. South Korea 3. Doesn't matter, it's a distant third."
Needless to say, the conversation was a buzzkill, and I got nowhere

There were senior citizen Asians all dressed in yellow baseball caps, yellow t-shirts, white pants and white shoes and I saw hundreds of them from Capitol Hill all the way to Foggy Bottom. I learned they were Korean when I saw the writing on the shirts.

When I stepped out for lunch, I got behind three of them on the sidewalk and (luckily, just as I was making the pass and was clearing them) the guy in the back let out a long, loud, wet fart like he was alone. He just didn’t give a fuck.
