He is showing symptoms of dementia. The sooner the Dems admit this and move on to a new candidate, the better their chances.

This doesn't show the polls but I recall constantly being told things like this.

If today’s Biden was the opponent back then Trump would have been polling way closer.

RCP average on June 22, 2016 was Clinton +3.2.
RCP average is currently Biden +10.
Yes, I know popular vote doesn't decide the election. But, it is a snapshot that gives an impression on how it is going *currently*. And quickest to google.

Re: 2020 General Election
Polls were pretty spot on about the popular vote: Clinton beat Trump as predicted.
Where they messed up is predicting the margins in the swing states, where the stupidity that is the EC matters.
So far, there's been quite an emphasis on data collection from swing states.

Biden now leads by 21 with independents and 28 with college educated voters. He has beyond the margin leads in Arizona, NC, WI, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Re: 2020 General Election
Saying this holds, it'll be interesting to see how much of Congress gets swept up with Trump.

Which "independents" are they polling? I don't know one true independent that would vote for Biden and in their eyes he is as despicable as Trump is.

Re: 2020 General Election
And if everything holds that would mean a rout of the Democrats in 2022 and a hostile Congress to the second half of term for the VP who takes over for Biden when he steps aside. 2024 will mean a Presidential election between that person and whomever the GOP goes to in the aftermath of Trumpdom. Should make for a fairly tumultuous political period, even more so than the past 10-12 years. Such is the case when the leadership void in both parties is as pronounced as it is now.

You assume leadership will be void by then.

One of the most popular Democrats in office right now; 74% of Dems would vote for her (if they could).
If she keeps her numbers up, that popularity will definitely lead her to a nomination in the future if she seeks it.
I said it in 2018 and I'll say it again, I belive we'll see an AOC presidency at some point.

I held on to the both sides suck concept as long as I could and I can still understand a third party protest vote but anyone considering voting for Trump over a roadkill raccoon at this point is stupid and/or out of their fucking mind.Winterborn wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:07 pm

Re: 2020 General Election
On July 26, 1988, the Gallup Poll had Massachusetts Democratic Gov. Michael Dukakis with a 17-point lead over Republican Vice President George H.W. Bush (41) in the race for the White House.
https://nsjonline.com/article/2020/06/h ... mer-polls/
I bet Dukakis was up by close to 30 among independents..And Bush beat Dukakis by 8 points- that's a 25 point swing in 3+ months And Dukakis was suffering from early onset dementia. (at least I don't believe he was)..

Re: 2020 General Election
Yeah, what could possibly go wrong with forced mail in ballots.
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/artic ... 43551.htmlIn the City Council election, 16,747 vote-by-mail ballots were received, but only 13,557 votes were counted. More than 3,190 votes, 19% of the total ballots cast, were disqualified by the board of elections. Due to the pandemic, Paterson’s election was done through vote-by-mail. Community organizations, such as the city’s NAACP chapter, are calling for the entire election to be invalidated.
