I don’t think we need any more people here and should further restrict immigration.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:They can come legally, its the law and it needs to be enforced.kalm wrote:Good and valuable people can come from shitholes.

Anyone that agrees with a free flowing border should be thrown in jail for an attack on America. NOBODY has a problem with anyone coming here legally. So stop the semantics.

If you are talking about the people that come to Montana then I agree. It sucks here stay in Washington.kalm wrote:I don’t think we need any more people here and should further restrict immigration.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:

It's almost like they're in a race with Trump to the bottom. They've both been sprinting for over a year and are still neck and neck. The stamina is actually quite remarkable.BDKJMU wrote:"CNN Goes Off on a Sh*thole Sh*tstorm: Mentions “Sh*thole” at least 36 Times in One Night (Video)"

To a certain point. We're not there yet, but at some point (don't know what that point is), it needs to stop.CAA Flagship wrote:1. Trump should have every meeting involving anyone outside his inner circle recorded.

3. Not sure of the context, but calling it a "racist" comment may be overblown. Maybe it has to do with education or economic skills.
4. Immigration is important. Population growth is important to the economy of any city, state, Palouse, or country.
5. Donnie Douche and Simone Sanders are **** assclowns.
Thank you.

You're correct and I wouldn't have a problem with taking in the good and valuable. But we don't always take the good and valuable people. We have a freaking lottery to determine who comes. How does that help us?kalm wrote:Good and valuable people can come from shitholes.

We should limit the amount of immigrants that come in, but generally I agree with your sentiment. Immigration should be merit based, not this lottery bull shit (in some cases at least).∞∞∞ wrote:I don't care if they're skilled or not; if someone wants to uproot their lives, make the trek here, and make an attempt to build a better life...then I say go for it. And in my anecdotal evidence, I've noticed immigrants are way more hard-working than native born Americans. They don't bitch about first-world problems and in general, just get shit done.
I think you (among others) are missing the larger fundamental point. It's not about calling some nations a "shithole" because the brutal truth is that they are. It's his insinuation that these people shouldn't be reaching for what America has to offer, don't deserve to try, and that America shouldn't attempt to extend help - to be the beacon of hope and light for the world's pressed and downtrodden that we've always been.SDHornet wrote:We should limit the amount of immigrants that come in, but generally I agree with your sentiment. Also have not problem with Trumps shithole comment...after all these people are coming here because their country is more than likely a complete shithole.
And love how the msm continues to meltdown over any Trump comment.

I don't take it that way at all. I take it as he wants to bring in the best and brightest and not just be about handouts to the down trodden. We can help a lot of these people in their own country (speaking specifically of Haiti here and any country dealing with natural disasters).∞∞∞ wrote:I think you (among others) are missing the larger fundamental point. The problem isn't that he called those countries shitholes, it's that he's inferring that the people are shit.

Haiti was a shithole before.SDHornet wrote:I don't take it that way at all. I take it as he wants to bring in the best and brightest and not just be about handouts to the down trodden. Yes, it can handle way more than the 327 million est it is now.. But think about the unimaginable strain on natural resources and the environment of 2.5 billion people in the US. Take what we currently consume (food, energy, nat resources, etc) and multiply it by a factor of 7 or 8. Think about what it would do to open spaces (there's always going to be a large chunk of the population that doesn't want to live in dense, urban aeas)..∞∞∞ wrote:I don't care if they're skilled or not; if someone wants to uproot their lives, make the trek here, and make an attempt to build a better life...then I say go for it. Taken in context Clinton's "deplorables" comment was spot on. She started off by saying that, yes, a lot of Trump supporters were in that category but went on to say that a lot of other ones were motivated by understandable concerns. And I think she was right.GannonFan wrote:Politicians say all kind of stuff these days. I've seen it. It's an echo chamber thing. Trying to put some kind of positive spin on a really stupid action by Trump and, yes, Trump zombies will buy it. But overall it's a negative. This episode did not help the Republican and/or conservative cause. Trump is an idiot.SeattleGriz wrote:Can't find the meme, but it was spot on.
