Ran across the article below yesterday about the SF housing market. Also read elsewhere that NY is seeing similar trends.
Both cities use property tax as one of their main sources of income. Going to be interesting to see what happens when landlords cannot pay that due to not having renters or people leaving.
https://www.sfgate.com/living-in-sf/art ... 484785.phpNew report confirms what many have been talking about for weeks: There is an exodus out of San Francisco, and the numbers are staggering.
Online real estate company Zillow released new statistics shining a stark light on the issue this week. Their "2020 Urban-Suburban Market Report" reveals that inventory has risen a whopping 96% year-on-year, as empty homes in the city flood the market like nowhere else in America.

I looked at the thread and I don't think they have Reuters as doing anything wrong. It looks like they think the Reuters should have provided some kind of explanation to make sure nobody used their stock photos to claim the stock photos are evidence of Trump mucking up the post office. It doesn't look to me like Reuters made any claim about that. I looked up a fact check on the use of the photos and I don't think the "mainstream media" are implicated. Reuters has dropped the ball with an obvious bias or being flat out wrong a number of times since in the last couple years..The most recent I can remember is last winter when they published a story accusing the Trump admin of keeping 100k children in immigration detention, then scrubbed the news from their site when it was pointed out they were UN #s from 2015 when Obama was president..SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 4:49 pmReuters is a news service. Palantir to relocate headquarters from Silicon Valley to Colorado
Data analytics software company Palantir Technologies is relocating its headquarters to Denver, Colorado from Palo Alto, California, CNBC confirmed Wednesday.
The company updated its website where it now lists Denver as the site of its headquarters. It also updated its social media pages to reflect the change.
The Denver Business Journal first reported news of a potential move.
Co-founded in 2004 by billionaire investor Peter Thiel, Palantir is a data analytics company that provides software to large companies and government agencies. Palantir also announced early July that it filed confidentially for a public stock offering.

The post office is not like it was prior to the pandemic. I have no doubt the mailboxes are not being picked up as often as before. 5 times in a 2 month period, items I have dropped off at the post office drop-box, have been tracked as mailed 3 or 4 days later, leading ebay to ding me for late shipping. For 22 years, I had never had this happen prior to the pandemic. I no longer use the drop-box, I go into the post office and drop my mail off there now. No issue with late shipping since.JohnStOnge wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 2:43 pmI looked at the thread and I don't think they have Reuters as doing anything wrong. Also notice a lot of packages going on detours. My package that was suppose to arrive on Monday, went to St Paul, then Wilson, WI, then back to St Paul and then to me.
A lot of strange stuff that could be related to the pandemic with new rules and people being sick, substitute workers, etc.

We use them at the Bank. They've got a solid product and great customer service. I worked with them once of a few vulnerabilities we recognized. I'm pretty sure we can tell them we want the SW to sing show-tunes as it compiles analytics and they'd make it happen.CID1990 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 6:49 amWait...CAA Flagship wrote: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/19/palanti ... orado.html

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/20/former- ... cheme.htmlFormer White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has been arrested after being charged with defrauding hundreds of thousands of donors through their campaign “We Build the Wall.”
Bannon, along with three of his associates were indicted by investigators at the U.S. Southern District of New York on Thursday.
