Oh please. Go right ahead. Tell us what's wrong with this.

Did the person just leave from one errand and is en route to another errand and didn't feel like taking it off? Do you have any idea why they're wearing the mask? Why does it bother you? :coffee:
It doesn't bother me that they do it, just shows how retarded they are. And people that stupid bother me. :coffee:

Great 8 tweet Berenson thread calling out fear porn peddlers now that they are directly contradicting a paper they wrote in 2006 about pandemics. You can't make this shit up.

Mississippi's five largest hospitals had no intensive care unit beds available for patients by midweek because of a surge in coronavirus cases, officials reported Thursday. Four more hospitals had 5% or less of those beds available.

“I was woken up by a phone call yesterday morning at 4 a.m. because we had so many patients at our hospital, we didn’t know where to put them,” Dr. Alan Jones, assistant vice chancellor for clinical affairs of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, said Thursday.

Mississippi has one of the fastest-growing rates of new coronavirus cases in the United States. One county, Grenada, saw a 22% increase in reported cases from last week to this week. Simpson County saw an 18% increase.

At a news conference Thursday afternoon, Gov. Tate Reeves said that starting early next week, he will require people to wear masks in public in 13 counties showing the greatest recent increases in coronavirus cases. Those include Grenada and Hinds County in the Jackson area. Business owners in those counties will be asked to screen employees for COVID-19 before starting a shift.

The governor also announced that in those counties, he will limit gatherings to 10 people indoors and 20 outdoors. The current statewide limit is 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors.

Compounding Mississippi's rising cases is the fact that it is one of the states with the fewest health care resources in the country, and hospitals are already stretched thin, a panel of medical officials said at a news conference Thursday.

Another attack on the COVID situation in a Red State by a self-hating Southerner.

I give you Delaware, a Blue State where COVID and the economy have both been forked up to a fare-thee-well by a Donk Governor. So badly, in fact, that even NJ wants to quarantine us.

Do you have an article or something on Delaware? I haven't seen much. Their data doesn't look too bad compared to the Sun Belt hotspots. But, I could be missing something.

A few days ago New Jersey and New York placed Delaware in the same quarantine as the other states - you spend anytime in Delaware now other than driving through it and you're supposed to quarantine in place for 14 days when you get to those states. Delaware blames the beaches - kids gathering in huge numbers, sans masks, in places like Lewes and Rehoboth. Same issue as other places with bar settings.

My county population is around 6,800 people. 105 have tested positive and their has been one "death". But the state's website extrapolates that to cases per 100,000 so it red flags our county as having a rate of 1,558/100,000.

I'm taking the family down to Ocean City NJ for a week's beach vacation in less than 2 weeks. They don't have PA on a quarantine list yet so we're good.

And on the school front, they've been running the summer voluntary practices for the high school - in the fall my oldest plays soccer and my middle guy runs cross country (youngest guy is just starting middle school this upcoming year). They've been wearing masks to and from the field and they get temperature checks when they arrive. Practices have been socially distanced so far (easier to do in cross country) but they should start actual scrimmages soon. Hope they get to play this year - school looks likely to be an every other day thing - MWF on one week, then T/Th on the next week, and so on. Just hope on those off days that there's some type of synchronous learning going on - the disaster of online schooling in the spring was the lack of live teaching - just basically passed out 90 slides of power point and told the kids to learn whatever the subject was. Can't continue that way going forward or we'll have kids even dumber than the Millennials and the Zoomers that came before them, and we're already seeing the impact of that brain drain.

Nah, we'll be fine. We normally only eat out one dinner and one breakfast while we're down there, do take-out or make our own while we're there even in normal times. Wear a mask when we're around others and this year we'll look for a more remote part of the beach to set up the umbrellas so I don't need to sit there all day with a mask on. Should be easy to do so, normally the crowds are just around the lifeguard stands. This is even more reason to limit trips up to the boardwalk. Kids are getting too old for some of the rides anyway.
