I agree. They could have at least out us on either side of the bracket, Jesus.

What's more, we'll have to travel to Bozeman for the quarters if both teams with their first games.
First and foremost. this is the playoffs. If you're in, you control your own destiny. If you have a great team, you show it on the field. The best team will be the champion. I love FCS for this.
Second, you have to pay for this wonderful system. Given the lack of support from Spokane (20 miles from Cheney), A #5 seed is the best Eastern can ever hope for. You have to have fans in the seats to pay for this thing. Spokane simply is not a big enough sports town to support this sort of thing.
Eastern is clearly doing a great job on the field, and I think with they are going over the top off the field trying to promote the program, but Spokane appears to be Spokane, and won't support winning college football. I've heard the argument that they support the PAC-12 team Wash St. a 150 miles away. That really isn't true either, they have one of the lowest attendences in all of BCS. Spokane is just a rotten city for college football.
The potential rematch with MSU in Bozeman is financial too. Keeping SEMO, NDST, and MSU in the same bracket manages travel costs. MSU has better fan support for a 3rd round game. This is because they have better fan support from Bozeman, than Eastern gets from Spokane.
Eastern can be happy with the #5 seed, and an opportunity to show just how good their program is in the playoffs.
Go Eags!
