What the hell is the CBI?

Post by DuckDuckGriz »

I don't care but all I know is Da Griz are still alive and the Oregon Ducks are still playing which, if you'd told me that three months ago, I'd call you a big silly goose.

The CBI is the College Basketball Invitational is a post season tournament much like the NCAA's the NIT and CIT.

HDNET is a channel that is only available on HD tv's, and if you have a satelite you need an HD reciever.

Lucky for me I have HDNET, and now since I cant go watch Weber play again, I can at least watch it on tv.

Thank you good sir. And I understand you Weebs are quite miffed about not hosting. I can't really comment on this, I didn't really know about the whole situation but I'm just happy the Ducks are @ home. No offense.

NOW - is HDNet a free standard like Versus and Altitude and all that? I have comcast hd so I'm wondering.

Yes, if you have an HD tv and all the HD necessities for Comcast it shouldnt cost you anything.

This is from goducks.com

AT HOME:

First, you must have an HDTV and receiver box, including the high-definition programming package from your cable or satellite provider. You can find HDNet in your area by going to our home page at http://www.hd.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and clicking on the “Subscribe” button.

THE CBI GAMES ARE PART OF HDNET’S REGULAR PROGRAMMING, THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE ESPN FULL COURT PAY PER VIEW PACKAGE.

If you receive HDNet as one of your high-definition channel choices then there is nothing more that you need to do, nor any extra purchase to make. These games are not subject to blackout. Just tune to HDNet at game time and you’re set!

CHANNEL GUIDE (CHECK YOUR LOCAL LISTINGS):

Launched in 2001 by Mark Cuban and General Manager Philip Garvin, the HDNet networks are available in the U.S. via AT&T U-verse, Charter, Comcast, DIRECTV, DISH Network, Insight, and Verizon FiOS and in Canada via Access Communications, Cogeco, Rogers, Shaw Cable, and Shaw Direct.

AT&T U-Verse: 1105
Comcast: 798 *** (in Oregon)
DIRECTV: 79 or 306
Dish Network: 362
Verizon FIOS: 569

The Comcast they have listed looks like the one for Oregon, so I guess you just need to check your local listing to see if you have it.

No offense taken DuckDuckGriz, us Weebs's anger is directed at the CBI and no one else :thumb:
