Even though Berry and Spiller weren't there (taken right ahead of us), I think the Hawks made some SOLID picks. Best players available at our spots, and filled glaring needs on the team.

I'm confused by the Vikings trade. I get that the people taken with those three picks to finish the round probably weren't on the top of the Vikings board, and we picked up a 7th rounder but still. The Vikings traded #30 and#128 for #34, #100, and#214.

I would have liked to have saw Minnesota go after a CB because Winfield is getting up there in age, and we struggled there last year, but they must feel safe with the signing of Shepard.

I think we need a RB to spell AP, like Chester Talor did. I know we have Albert Young, but I don't see him being a Chester Talor.

I also think that we need a QB. Yes, we may have Favre this year, and maybe the year after (doubtful), but what do we have after that? We just signed Tavaris Jackson to a one year 1.7 million dollar contract, so that may be a reason to not go after a QB this year, and get one next year. However, I would like to see Clausen or McCoy. Next years QB class doesn't look any better than this years with Jake Locker,Christian Ponder, Jerrod Johnson, Case Keenum, and Ricky Stanzi being the top rated QB's for next year. I can tell you right now I would never take Ricky Stanzi.


However, if Q. Scott is sitting there in the late rounds for MN, they have to take him I feel. Yes I'm a homer there, but for a 5th round pick he would be HUGE.

But they got back a 4th from Baltimore, so really it was only a 2nd and 3rd. Still, it was a reach. I expected TT to go late first or early second, but a team trading up for him at 25?

I'll concede that there is a remote possibility he could be an NFL QB. But, why the fuck would you want to risk your ass on that remote chance. McDaniels looks like a fucking moron.

100% agree. Nothing flashy with the picks, but they filled glaring holes on our roster, and for where we got them in the draft, you couldn't do any better. I'm kinda surprised we didn't go with Derrick Morgan with that second pick, but I'm sure we can land a solid (if not spectacular) DE later in the draft. Thomas is a good one, and Okung is a freak of nature from an athletic standpoint. Hopefully they both pan out.

We're way thinner at S than DE... I would've been pissed had we taken Morgan. Berry and Thomas were a close 1 and 2, the rest of the safties in the drafter don't even compare. I've heard that we had the #2 best draft so far.

I am pissed the Eagles traded up for a small DE/tweener LB. They could have done just as much or better keeping the later pick.

Even more frustrated the Redskins, Cowboys, and Giants all made better more obvious improvements.

Finally, I am stoked the Broncos got Tim Tebow. Football fans, analyst, and front office personnel are all split on Tebow. Despite hating Florida football, this kid is the biggest winner and best leader in the draft. His attitude and leadership will make him a successful NLF QB back in 2 years, maybe sooner with his work ethic. Tebow, will be the man to lead Denver back to being an elite franchise again. Congrats Bronco's.

It still baffles me that people think Clausen is the better QB here. If anyone actually watched a few of their games, to me it's a no-brainer that Tebow is the better QB, football player, leader and learner. He might not have the fundamentals and precision technique 'required' to be an NFL starting QB (as if there is only one way to be a QB in the NFL), but he was doing something right in Florida to win 2 NCs and a Heisman. If there is anyone who has the desire , willingness and athletic ability to learn or improve at either the position they drafted him for or for another position, it's Tebow. As for Clausen...what exactly did he do at ND? Lose more than he won? Fall behind early so that he had a chance to add some comebacks games to his stats? At least Clausen has added some muscle recently, because he was a scrawny boy at best in college. But I honestly can't understand why just because Kiper Jr. has Clausen's junk jammed down his throat the rest of us should
follow along.

As for Bradford....anyone want to place bets on how many games he lasts until he goes down for the season with another shoulder injury?

Graham doesn't have ideal height for a defensive end prospect and he doesn't have elite natural ability, but he makes of his skill set.

Hughes is a player who has a non-stop motor. He boasts great quickness, body control and the ability to bend and accelerate to close on quarterbacks. He also shows an array of pass-rush moves which keeps offensive tackles on their toes to both the inside and outside. He had a very productive, durable career. Hughes fits perfectly at the NFL level as an undersized pass-rush specialist off the edge.

At least you Philly fans have another, what, 9 drafts left??? Chances are you're going to get some quality players for years to come out of this draft, even if it isn't your #1 draft.

The Skins, uh....yeah, we don't have anything close to that number. Unless Trent Williams can immediately step up (cuz he will be starting in game one, guaranteed) and be the next Chris Samuels, we have less of a chance of drafting an long-lasting impact player.

As an Eagles fan, I will gladly eat my words from earlier in the thread if he impresses me on the field more than he does now on paper.

I just can't get over passing up on a B-Dawk replacement, and giving up three high picks to get a situational pass rusher. Hell, they could have stayed right where they were and picked up possibly the best cover corner in the draft in Kyle Wilson. The Eagles just overthink every stinking year.

With the Rams OLine, he'll last a couple of weeks I'm guessing he'll start seeing action no later than week 5.

I'm happy with the Dez Bryant pick, especially being in a room full of Bucs fans, when the rumor started that they would trade out of the second round to get him.
