Brady now has the two highest vote totals in MVP voting history, he won the 2007 award by a 49-1 vote. Whoever voted for Favre in 2007 should be banned from ever voting again :coffee:

Was that the year Favre lost to the Super Bowl Champions in OT, in the NFC Championship game?

voting is done before playoffs... tell me how someone can justify voting for Favre over a guy who set records while leading a team to the first ever 16-0 regular season... THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION!

Must be someone with a lust for Favre, because no one could possibly hate Brady more than Favre.... could they???

Well, if you take a poll in Columbus Ohio, Brady would probably lose.

Yet...none of those could get him past those pesky fucking Jets...who got lucky because there is no way the Jets can beat the Pats...right?

I never said the Jets couldn't beat the Patriots... I said and still say there is no evidence the Jets are better than the Pats, just as there is no evidence the Pats are better than the Jets... For the foreseeable future, those games will be tossups each time they play... both teams are VERY good teams.

Both losses to the Jets this season were played sloppy by the Patriots and mistakes cost them, the results easily could have been reversed, so yes while the Jets did win two games to one, they have hardly proved they are a better team.

Look at it this way. Indiana State beat UNI this season and currently are 12-12. UNI is 18-7. Lets say UNI wins all remaining games except for its second Indiana State game and Indiana State loses the rest of its games except the UNI game. UNI would finish 23-8 and Indiana State 13-17. UNI would potentially be going to the NCAA tournament and Indiana State will be looking towards next season... Does that mean Indiana State is a better team, or perhaps unusual events for UNI happened in the game.

had the Jets destroyed the Patriots in both games and the outcome was never in doubt after the half, than you might have a legitimate argument, but not now.

You did see the playoff game, correct? I have no dog in this argument, but geez, the Jets thumped the Pats in that game. Brady deserves the MVP for the year but man, have you ever seen an MVP look so bad in a playoff loss as he did? The Jets had their way with the Pats in that game, all day. Pretty hard argument to try to make that the Pats are better than the Jets after that thrashing.

I'd rather see the Patsies with Grogan under center than Brady....

Take away the uncharacteristic INT he threw and the botched fake punt, two mistakes that were uncommon for the 2010 Patriots and the outcome would very much be in doubt. It wasn't anywhere near the thrashing you make it out to be.

Come on, man, the Jets dominated the lines of scrimmage all day. The Pats lost that game in the trenches. They couldn't get in on Sanchez and they couldn't keep people off of Brady. Every yard was a struggle for the Pats in that game. They were lucky to be as close as it was.

The Jets offense wasn't exactly explosive either. But lets look at the two mistakes the Pats made that Tatally changed the entire game.

Oppening drive. If Brady doesn't make the bad throw they were getting atleast 3 points there... so 3-0 NE

They later added a FG in the 1st quarter so that would be 6-0.

The Jets got a TD so 7-6 Jets

Now assume they dont try the fake punt and pin the jets deep in their own end with 1:06 left in half... hard to imagine the Jets offense going 80 yards in a minute six so ..

HALF TIME 7-6 Jets

Patriots got a TD in 3rd and converted a 2 pt conversion so 14-7 NE

Jets get a TD a couple minutes into 4th on a drive that started in the 3rd quarter 14-14

On next drive Pats get to Jets 34 but needing a TD with about 5 mins left they go for it on 4th down and dont convert. Instead tied they would attempt a FG While not a given its definitely make able so 17-14 Pats

at this point the Jets offense wasnt doing much so lets assume best case they get down to FG range and tie it late in 4th quarter

If Brady had time after that he could try his 2 minute offense which did produce a 1:11, 59 yard TD drive late in the game but the Jets defense protecting a good lead was likely playing a bit loose so lets say Brady didnt get down to FG range in time and off to OT we go.

You see how different the game would go without the fake punt that gave the Jets short field and the bad throw that Brady really didnt make all year...

Now it's not to say the Jets didn't deserve to win, they did, the Patriots didnt show up that day, maybe they felt cocky after the 45-3 game and were looking ahead, who knows....

But to say the Jets are a better team because of that game is just stupid... neither team is better than the other... there will not be a game next year whether they play twice or three times that either team cant win.

Anyone that wants to continue saying the Jets are a better team than the Patriots are letting their hatred of the Patriots blind reality. Just as any Patriots fan who says the Pats are better than the Jets.
