Why a ninth-grader’s arrest over a home-built clock struck a chord across America

Liberals suspend kids for eating pop tarts or pastries into the shape of a gun. They suspend kids for pointing their fingers miming a gun. But a kid brings a homemade clock to school with wires hanging out that could be mistaken for the timing component for an IED, he's suspended, and the libs go apopleptic. WTF? :?

The kids pointing their fingers mimicking a gun or eating a pop tart in the shape of a gun are out of control budding Conk white supremacist terrorists. The little Muslin kid is a victim of racisis white anit-Muslin Amerikkka.

Jeezus Christ BDK, you should know this shit by now. :dunce:

Uh oh! Poor dumbass Texas conks are getting picked on again! :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:

I know a few liberals and none of them would agree with suspending a kid over eating something into the shape of a gun or miming shooting a gun. Little kids will turn anything into a gun. The only exception would be doing it in a threatening or bullying manner. My youngest was picked on by a troubled kid at school who would reportedly keep a knife in his back pack and was continuously making slashing signs to my son and some other kids. A knife wasn't found but the kid was suspended for a day.

BTW, zero tolerance policies and school administration tend more toward the right side of the political spectrum. Thought you should know. :thumb:

I guess I don't blame schools for being overly cautious, but does this really look like something that could blow up a building? :?

It's fine to question it and make sure that it wasn't part of a bomb, but that process surely can happen without putting the kid in handcuffs, no?

All those cops getting themselves killed just to get their families an invite to the White House

All they had to do was send their kids to school with a homebuilt electronic clock

Who knew?

So, a muslim kid puts a timing device in a briefcase and then wonders why the school freaked out?

Yes, yes it does. At first glance I can see how it looks like a bomb, it looks like a prototype to a bomb in fact. Gee, Let's put all the timing elements of a bomb in a metal brief case and see how the school reacts? :dunce:
When I first heard the story, I was leaning more towards the school over reacting, but now that I see a picture of the thing, I think they made the right call initially. While I do tend to agree that the kid was innocent, I completely see the other side of it if now. He could have built it to look LESS like a damn bomb than he did ffs. And in case you are wondering, I would say the same thing no matter what color this kid was. This poor me for being stupid and not thinking things through is getting old. Crying racism when it has nothing to do with it gets old. I would expect the same exact reaction no matter who brought this bomb looking device to a school or even work for that matter. :twocents:

I'm not an expert on bomb building, but I'm pretty sure you need EXPLOSIVES in addition to a timing device.

Duh. He's a Muslim. Libs get behind pretty much any non-white or non-male.

The biggest problem with this whole story is, more is being made of it that it is.

Does it look like a blomb? (Yes)
Did the school react correctly to start? (Yes)
Did the kid go to jail? (No)
Did it matter who the kid was? (No)
Is it resolved now? (Yes)

But now everyone wants to cry foul because he was muslim. I say fuck that, use it as a learning experience and move on. No sense in getting butthurt over every thing or you will never make it in life. :coffee:

No shit. But a smart bomber would have transported them separately and (same sex) married them in school after the timing device arrived.

The handcuffs were the only thing that made this an issue. Stupid move with the handcuffs. Short of a handcuff photo and the perfect timing with his (likely manufactured for the moment) facial expression, this would have been a non-story.

C'mon cops. You can't get a kid safely to an interview room without handcuffs?

That would have been the LEO's call, not he shcool. Being hand cuffed and being arrested are 2 different things IMHO.

Yup, perfectly fine calling the cops and taking no chances, as the school did, but the kid didn't ever need to be cuffed.

Yes, ignorant conks (mayor of the town is a major Christian Fundie Bigot) over-reacted.

I see none of you morons actually read the damn story.

If the English teacher thought it was a bomb, why did she hold onto for hours?

Why didn't they evacuate the school?
