Again...you mean they did exactly what the media always does? I'm not shocked at all.dbackjon wrote:It is a YOUTUBE video, editted by bigots to make the incident look worse than what happened.clenz wrote:So...you mean the media outlet did what they always do?

Some folks in DE are awaiting our Supreme Court's ruling on sports betting, but the CA decision is a bit more significant! I don't see the Dover cops preparing for civil unrest. Just a few more drunks at the racetracks.

Frustration at being denied equality, again.
When you get kicked constantly, at some point, you lash back.
You heard it here, folks...dback endorses Israel bombing the sh!t out of the middle east.
Rationalizing violent response by saying one's "frustrated" by not being treated with equality is immature, regardless of the impropriety of the act initiating the frustration.
In this case, however, there is no impropriety, as the voters passed a law that the GLBT community isn't happy with (and don't give me that "equality" business, Jon. I've told you how this matter could be resolved...remove the litigious financial rewards, and social retribution mechanisms, and we wouldn't even be having this discussion...the GLBT activists aren't out for equality, they're out to "even the score".).
A violent response to a lawful election is simply an anarchistic reaction to an undesired outcome. In those cases, violence should be met with necessary, measured and placating force.

Violence will not solve anything, and its never justified unless the other side started it (i.e. I'm not going to hit someone, but if someone hits me or tries to, then its on). If we are going to earn equal rights, we should take a cue from the civil rights movement of the 60s and 70s and begin just walking to the state courthouses with who we want to marry and just asking for a marriage license...day after day after day after day.

If it has been edited, then post the "correct" version...dbackjon wrote:Thanks - but not at all. I don't excuse the actions of the person in the video (although the video has been edited to make it seem different than what ACTUALLY happened), but I hate it when people do crap like what T-man did there.catamount man wrote:I can't win here, so I'll just the fuck up and leave this topic alone. Good luck in landing the right to marry, I mean that.
...yeah...the one where she was walking back and forth in front of the No on 8 protesters and the 40'ish 240lb, 6', white haired jackass blocks her path while another protester starts waving their signs in front of her face until another Yes on 8 male protester comes to her aid, then the group of thugs declare that the 80 year old lady was "provoking them" (Ooops!!! Yes, I've seen the whole video of the event).
But, let's not stop there, tell us how the No on 8/Neofascists are not involved with the rash of LDS church vandalisms/drive-by shootings immediately following the election...

...or, maybe the police forced this No on 8 protester to climb up on top of their police car like a chimpanzee...

...or storm a church, pull the fire alarms and take over a sunday service to hold up banners and shout anti-Christian epithets until the police arrived...

SMFH...
...I suppose you'll disown these also.
Point is, Jon, you imply that the acts of a few cannot be used to judge the whole (and specifically, yourself), but unlike your "McVeigh" analogy, no one here is rationalizing much less defending McVeigh or his actions.
Once you buy in, and you have, you're in all the way.

Dude that's exactly what I've been saying about this movement for quite some time now. You're a sharp dude obviously.ATrain wrote:Violence will not solve anything, and its never justified unless the other side started it (i.e. I'm not going to hit someone, but if someone hits me or tries to, then its on).
