This season will be a success if the Phils lose fewer than 100 games. And they have a shot at that.

I'm curious why they haven't used Fister in the last two weeks. His last three appearances out of the pen were pretty good.89Hen wrote:tribe_pride wrote:We are going to make this an NL East thread so how about a Cespedes for the rest of us. Mets sweep the Nats coming from behind in all 3 games. Up by 7 over the Nats for the Division title with 23 games to go.The only thing I don't understand is why I keep watching the Nats, night after night. Coming from behind... in the 7th or later.

I've stopped watching. Heard they lost 2 of 3 to the Marlins this weekend.AshevilleApp wrote:I'm curious why they haven't used Fister in the last two weeks. I think that's best for now. Your 8th inning guy, Storen, broke his thumb after hitting his locker. It wound up being a very disappointing season for the nats.89Hen wrote:I've stopped watching. Heard they lost 2 of 3 to the Marlins this weekend.AshevilleApp wrote:

Maybe for the best, and I understand something about disappointing seasons.89Hen wrote:I've stopped watching. Heard they lost 2 of 3 to the Marlins this weekend.AshevilleApp wrote:

Nats are now 9 1/2 back of the Amazins with 20 games to go and 19 for the Mets so magic number down to 11 (even further back of the Wild Card)89Hen wrote:I've stopped watching. Heard they lost 2 of 3 to the Marlins this weekend.AshevilleApp wrote:

For last place in the major leagues, the Braves have gone in full tank mode after starting decently. They are now tied with the Phils after leading the Mets by 3 yesterday in the top of the 9th with 2 out and nobody on. Somehow blew it by letting 3 runs then score and then the Mets got an additional 3 in the 10th to win. I say Braves get the #1 pick. They know how to tank better than the Phils do. Braves were 42-42 after 84 games and have gone 14-46 since then. The Braves best starter (Shelby Miller) has a 2.86 ERA and is only 5-14. That is impressively bad.

I know this isn't actually phillies related, but the Dodgers clinched the NL West tonight! All aboard the Utley-Rollins train!

Hard to believe that the Phils were 0-4 this year against Fat Bart Colon until last night.

If the Phils win 3 of their last 5 games, they'll avoid a 100-loss season. And given how awful they were before the all-star break, that's quite an accomplishment.GannonFan wrote:Is it over yet?

Eh, top pick in next year's draft and 99 losses - that could work.Ivytalk wrote:If the Phils win 3 of their last 5 games, they'll avoid a 100-loss season. And given how awful they were before the all-star break, that's quite an accomplishment.GannonFan wrote:Is it over yet?

Always nice to sweep the Mutts, especially when they have something to play for (home field advantage).

Gotta be careful - the Reds are only one win ahead of the Phils - tank the weekend boys, or at least have Mother Nature rain it out.

Holy crap, you're right! Reds have tanked 12 in a row. They get it. C'mon Phils, DO NOT fuck this up.bluehenbillk wrote:Gotta be careful - the Reds are only one win ahead of the Phils - tank the weekend boys, or at least have Mother Nature rain it out.

OMG, typical Phillies, tanking great right up to the very end, only to crap the bed in the last week and let the Reds waltz in. We have the tie break in the right direction with the Reds, though, right? So we just need to do no worse than tie with them and we still get the #1.

Is there a big #1 star out there to be had that it's so important?

It's better to have a choice in who they want rather than waiting to see who the reds/braves take correct?89Hen wrote:Is there a big #1 star out there to be had that it's so important?

With the two losses today, the phils have solidified the #1 overall pick! Yippee!
