I am in awe of the abilities of most accomplished surgeons- but coming from a family that has a few in the medical and dental profession it has not been my impression that the intelligence required for it is not necessarily the same as what would be required if a successful trial lawyer or a physicist. Doctors have usually struck me as possessing an intellect more in line with engineers and even artists. Not better or worse, just different.
