Really? I heard that ASU beat ASU, although ASU was leading at the half.dbackjon wrote:ASU beats ASU

It's not like a 7:30 start on a school night is easy when most of the alumni base are 2 hours away.

And you will have one-two Thursday night games a year as part of the "Fun" Belt. Just think of the exposure, though!!

2. Would you rather spend as much as you make working at WalMart or working at Macy's.
3. Also GA Tech, NC State, UGAy, Auburn, Indiana, LSU, Clemson. Appy has got da U and Wake coming to Boone.
4. See above.
5. Our attendance is up.
6. We had less in FCS.
7. We also get to go to Grant Field, Sanford Stadium, both Death Valleys, etc...
8. $1,000,000 per year minimum > $0.00 from the NoCon.
We can do this all day...

Our attendance is slightly down. I mean about 1k. We would still lead FCS in attendance (Montana's attendance dropped by about the same amount). And, we're still averaging more than our capacity.dbackjon wrote: 5) Attendance for App is down
But, we're aren't comparing individual teams. This is the "shit on the Sun Belt" thread.
Compare the Sun Belt's attendance to the SoCon's.
I think Chattooga and Mercer were leading the pack last year at just over 10k.

Big Week of action in the Fun Belt
Thursday, ULL travels to Mobile to face USA. Both already have 5 losses.
Saturday, we have Conference leader ArkyState traveling to UL-M
Also, the boys from Statesboro travel to 6-loss Troy.
Georgia State goes to Texas State in a battle of 6 loss teams.
Finally, AppyState plays regional rival Idaho in Moscow. Idaho that is. Only 2500 miles away. Moscow Russia is 5000 miles away, so App could have traveled to Russia.

You are probably the last one who needs to say anything about "regional rivals" when NAU is, give or take, 1,000 miles or more to no less than half a dozen of your fellow Big Sky conference members.
Idaho and NMSU are outlier football only members. NAU has to travel to Missoula, Portland, Sacramento, Bozeman, Grand Forks, Cheney, etc. for all sports.

There's a big difference IMO. The Big Sky is as geographically compact as it can be Baldy, you know that.Baldy wrote:Ummm jon...do you really wanna go there?![]()

Not when you include the Big Sky's associate members Binghamton (New York) and Hartford (Connecticut).89Hen wrote:There's a big difference IMO. The Big Sky is as geographically compact as it can be Baldy, you know that.Baldy wrote:Ummm jon...do you really wanna go there?![]()

Football wise, once Coastal joins, the Sun Belt will be nicely divided along Eastern and Western divisions. GSU, GAg State, Appy, Troy, Coastal, and South Alabama in the East with TX State, UL, ULM, stAte, NMSU and Idaho in the West. A nice geographically compact conference.

Re: Official 2015 Sun Belt Football Thread
College football is a fickle game.
We get skull drug out of Boone with our tails between out legs. The next week, App gives up 41 points, 450 yards, and needs divine intervention to keep from losing to Troy by two scores...in Boone.
We go to Troy yesterday, barely give up 200 yards of offense, hold them to 3 offensive points, and beat them by 5 TD's.
I love this game.
